2020.09.27 00:54 stonedandhydrated Maintenance entered home without work order

HOUSTON, TX
To preface this, I would like to add that my neighbor has a member of the apartment complexes maintenance staff creeping on her. She had video footage of him messing with her cameras and being in her apartment for no apparent reason. He took out her memory cards and placed a memory card of his own dated with her birthday. My boyfriend was hanging out with her and the maintenance man saw them together. This was a few days ago
Today we came home and someone was in our apartment. Maintenance cannot come in without a work order with the office. We did not put one in at all. And not once has anyone done this before. We put our cats in the bathroom with the light on because they get in the blinds. We came home today and the cats were let out and the lights had been turned off.
The leasing office is closed at the moment and we cannot get in contact with anyone until Monday. Do I have the right to sue/press charges? Me and my boyfriend are absolutely livid.
We don’t know if it’s the same man or anything but we do not feel safe.

2020.09.26 17:40 xspringdayx im dirty.

tw: grooming
i feel dirty.
i want to get this off my chest. i have no one to talk to about this..
i was groomed by two older men the past two years. it was over the internet, and I was very close to meeting both of them in real life.
i had told myself that i wouldnt fall for anything like that. i told myself that i wasnt stupid, but it turned out that i was. i was in a very bad place when i was 15 and 16 years old. things happened within my family (that im not comfortable talking about) that made me feel like shit. i felt like i had failed my siblings. i was left traumatized and hurt during those years. i wanted to feel love from a parent again.
during the same time, i started playing video games on pc as an outlet. i met many people who were nice to be around with, but two specific men came into my life and made me feel loved again.
i was 15 when i met a 20 year old man. he was really nice and kind to me. i was able to tell him things that i wasnt able to tell other people. he knew how old i was and told me that there was no problem. it was only a five year difference, he said. he made it sound like destiny as he told me that both our parents were five years apart. he aimed it more at my parents since my mom was 15 and my dad was about 20 years old when they got together. he started flirting with me a couple days later, and i didnt do anything to stop it. i started feeling loved and wanted for the first time in what seemed like forever. he told me i was beautiful and that he would take me away from my family. i was in love with him, and he knew that. he became my boyfriend a little after, and i thought that was going to be it: just flirting, talking, and having fun with one another. .but he then started to ask for nudes. i was so in love with him that i sent him a picture of my bare chest. he called me beautiful and encouraged me to take more. he wanted to see more, but i didnt feel comfortable so he respected it. in the nights following, he would tell me how horny he would be as he stared at my breasts. he sent me a picture of his d*ck and i felt disgusted, but i couldnt tell him that. i instead complimented him. i didnt want to hurt him and cause him to leave me. he convinced me to masturbate on call with him. i did so many things with him online that i just feel dirty after thinking about it. he would say he loved me after we finished and i would say it back because i was absolutely blinded by the amount of love he gave me. we continued doing it almost every night, and every night it always made me feel dirty. i felt disgusted about myself, but i didnt want to lose him so i continued to do whatever he wanted. we were planning to meet up on a february so he could take my virginity. the day almost came until my sister found out and forced me to break up with him. he said he would wait for me until i am legal.
he has sent me two messages from two new accounts after the breakup. he keeps telling me that he misses me. i ignore him and block him. reading those messages remind me of how dirty i am.
a year after the breakup, i met another man. this time, he was way older than me: i was 16 and he was 32. i met him on the game and we began to talk. his voice was soft and caring, and i was immediately drawn to him. he sounded young and he was extremely flirty. i didnt think much about it until he told me he was 32, and i was shocked. i told him i was 16, hoping that he would stop flirting but he didnt. he started to tell me about how younger people were more submissive and innocent. he told me that he wanted a young girlfriend who would cook for him, clean for him, have sex for him. . he made me extremely uncomfortable but i felt lonely so i stayed. he began to ask me questions such as if i was a virgin, which i told him, and where i lived- i also told him that and it turned out he lived in the same state as me. we continued talking alone that night and he later told me that he felt something magical between us that hes never felt before. he convinced me to date him that night and i accepted him. throughout my entire relationship with him, he would try to get me to side with him. for example, he convinced me for some time that women wanted to be raped by using a scenario from a woman in spain. he then told me that when i get into college/university, he would impregnant me so men wouldnt touch me and that i wouldnt go to parties and drink. he said he wanted to do it because he loved me and wanted to care of me. i trusted him and i was up for the idea. we would call every so often and he would make me masturbate on call with him while he himself does it as well. he made me feel dirty during it, telling me that i was a little slut and that i was a dirty bitch. he said he wanted to breed me. he also made me feel desirable when i would send him nudes (he would ask for them), and for the first time, i had sent a picture of my privates because he was pressuring me into giving him one. he told me so many things about my body that i cant even say it in this post. i felt disgusted but he was the only one i had and i didnt want to lose him either. i dont have any conversations saved with him because he made me download an app that would delete messages after a certain time period. that shouldve been a red flag but i still continued to talk to him. honestly, what made me disgusted was that his coworkers knew about us. they knew i was 16 and they were encouraging him to continue as he sent conversations from ours to them. they couldve done something but they didnt.
we were arranging a time to meet each other because it got to the point where he wanted me to get pregnant with his child. he couldnt take it anymore and wanted me pregnant. since i was convinced that he was doing what was best for me, i really thought i was going to go and meet him.. but i didnt. i broke it off with him. i dont remember exactly why, but i did. i wrote a whole breakup paragraph that i still have, but most of it was just nonsense. i think he knew it too. he didn't make much of a fuss and let me go.
im scared that he still has nude photos of me. im scared that he's doing the same thing to other girls. he has my address and i still have his address. there are times where i want to go back, but now im used. he wouldnt take me back after knowing that i lost it so i dont go and seek him.
i am now 17 years old and i havent gotten better about it yet. i still feel dirty and used. i feel like i lost my own dignity. i hate myself for letting grown men get the best of me. i want to die. i dont want my parents to know because i know i will get punished instead. maybe you guys think that im stupid. an idiot. maybe you guys believe grooming cant happen online. you guys are probably right.
i deserved it. im sorry.

2020.09.26 02:36 Umpx Poonam Pandey decides to end marriage with Sam Bombay two weeks after wedding

Two weeks after her wedding, Poonam Pandey filed a complaint against her husband Sam Bombay for assaulting and threatening her. She has now decided to end their marriage.
Poonam Pandey, who filed a complaint against her husband Sam Bombay earlier this week for assaulting, molesting and threatening her, said that she has decided to end her marriage with him. Sam Bombay was arrested on Monday in Goa following Poonam’s complaint.
Before their wedding on September 10, Poonam and Sam dated for three years. Speaking to The Times Of India, Poonam said that her relationship “has always been abusive”, and that it isn’t a good idea to continue with a person who has “beaten” her up “like an animal”.
Of the incident that forced her to take action against Sam Bombay, Poonam told The Times Of India, “Our argument escalated and he began hitting me. He choked me and I thought I was going to die. He punched me in my face, pulled me by my hair and banged my head against the corner of the bed.”
“He knelt on my body, pinned me down and assaulted me. Somehow, I managed to break free and bolted out of the room,” she added.
Poonam married Sam as she believed that their relationship would improve but that did not happen. “I am the perfect example of love is blind,” she said.
Two weeks ago, Poonam Pandey married Sam Bombay in a private ceremony in Mumbai. She was shooting in Goa earlier this week and was accompanied by Sam. Police officials in Goa told news agency PTI that Poonam filed a complaint against Sam on Monday night in which she claimed that she was assaulted, molested and threatened by her husband.
Poonam Pandey has appeared in Hindi, Kannada and Telugu movies such as Love Is Poison and Malini & Co. Amit Saxena's 2013 film Nasha marked Poonam Pandey's debut in Bollywood.
Sam Bombay is a filmmaker and has directed music videos of the songs Gal Ban Gayi and Befikra, featuring Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani.

2020.09.25 13:45 sky1712 I took the GRE today. 162V, 170Q. Powerprep tests were not indicative for me.

Hey guys! I just took the GRE today. I had received a VQVQV pattern (I was praying for the other pattern). I am not very fluent or skilled as an English speaker, so the Verbal section was very intimidating. I finished the test with a 162 on the Verbal and 170 on the Quant. I am not sure how good a score this is given the program I want to apply to, but I am pretty happy with my performance for the following reasons:
  1. My preparation was inadequate, at best. I don't have any GRE material and I relied solely on PDF's of the materials I managed to find on the internet. These included the official ETS material and Magoosh GRE videos (I found these very helpful). I was not performing very well on the Verbal sections I was practicing. Nevertheless, I tried to pick on the techniques as much as I could (again Magoosh GRE videos are a great resource).
  2. The biggest intimidation that really bogged me down: the Powerprep tests. I took both of them. One 3 days ago and one a day after that. On Powerprep 1, I got 167Q and 162V. Verbal here, I considered to be a fluke score because I had guessed several answers and even marked some randomly. So, I looked forward to powerprep 2 to gauge my performance in a real meat timed test for real. Come powerprep 2, I scored 170 on the quant section and a meager 151 on the verbal section. This is FAR from what I needed for the program I want to apply to. I was freaking out at this point. I found poweprep 2 verbal to be too difficult. On this subreddit, I saw how representative the powerprep tests are; this added to my fear. I had one day to go and I decided to come up with a strategy that would save me from a such a fiasco. I wasn't sure though if it would work. I was trying to stay calm anyway. Takeaway message: if you don't do as well on the powerprep as you had expected to, i.e. there is a HUGE variation, don't worry. Chances are, you randomly got a difficult Powerprep (they vary right?). But again, this is based on MY experience. Wiser people here (and A LOT of them) suggest otherwise. So, make sure you are able to evaluate your standpoint rationally.
  3. Words. Now I don't want to understate my preparation for this to any reader going through this but largely, my vocabulary was restricted to Barron's 333 high frequency words. Of course in addition to this, I picked on a lot of words from the practice sessions I used to do from the material I mentioned above. But this was the sum total of it. I didn't go through lots of decks or 1000+ words, etc. nor do I feel (from my experience) that it is essential. When I struggled with TC/SE, it usually wasn't for the lack of knowledge of definitions of esoteric (thank you GRE!) words. So, this was another source of anxiety for me because I knew full well how hardcore people tend to get as far as their vocabulary preparation is concerned.
I should mention at this point that the crux of my preparation was restricted to the last week (vocabulary from a longer period although with breaks) because of my ongoing regular involvement with college tests yada yada. I felt yesterday that I could have done better (building on the techniques rather than extensive practice) if I knew better before. Despite all this, I tried to remain calm and walked out with a score I consider enough for me.
Finally, I want to share what I used for my vocabulary preparation. It's a tool I had developed a long time back (that's why I said my vocabulary preparation dates to before). This is for those familiar with the technical jargon of programming (so please let me know if this is beyond the scope of discussion of this subreddit). I wrote a Python script to scrape vocabulary.com's definitions and lists. In other words, I used this to automate downloading lists and word definitions on the go in a printable format. I found this immensely useful and convenient (that was the intention of making it) for gathering words that are just sufficient to crack the GRE instead of blindly swallowing huge word lists. You can find it here. I have included a README for those who might be interested in using this for their preparation. Let me know if you have any feature requests; I'll try to integrate them as far as I can.
Thanks for being a great community!

2020.09.25 01:22 Picochu_ An Alternate All-Stars

I decided to work with what I perceive to be some of All-Stars´ rules: 7 ROTI competitors, 7 Gen 1 competitors, same challenges, same idea behind the teams, but a lot of changes
Heroic Hamsters: Owen, Leshawna, Courtney, Cameron, Zoey, Mike, Anne Maria
Villainous Vultures: Heather, Duncan, Gwen, Alejandro, Lightning, Scott, Jo

2020.09.24 23:06 hunterpua Here's the god honest way to stop being needy and have girls chasing you

Create abundance for yourself.

That's it.
I'm not saying abundance in general. I don't mean have a life of abundant experiences, successes, or finances. Those things are great and I strive for those things and recommend everyone else does too but those things will only help you in this area of life peripherally at best.
What I'm really saying is to create a life of actual, tangible abundance of the kind of girls you're attracted to.
Its not just an abundance mentality, its getting to a position where you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the kind of girls you're attracted to are also attracted to you and you have a very good chance with them.
The level of certainty you should be shooting for is to have evidence proving that you attract the people you want. To know actual names of girls who would want to jump your bones, to actually have a lot of intimate experiences with different girls.
Every other proposed solution, including working on yourself, are things that do help to an extent but are mostly there just to make you feel like you're getting something done while avoiding the uncomfortable but most productive thing that you actually need to be doing to produce the specific results you're looking for.
Its like a person who decides he wants to write a book for the first time but ends up making himself busy preparing materials, organizing his workspace, or reading books and watching videos about writing for ages instead of just sitting his ass down and actually writing something.
If you want to improve your dating life, work on your dating life.

This is how you build tangible abundance

I. Make sure you can afford an active social life.
Everything costs money and unless you wanna attract girls that hang around guys who don't really do much, you're gonna need to be able to afford at least basic stuff.
Having a job that's above minimum wage is usually enough for this so even if you don't have a very high position at work yet, you should be good.
II. Join social groups around your interests and hobbies
If you have a hobby or you're looking to get into something then join a social group around it. It not only puts you around the kind of people you'll naturally get along with but its also one of the best ways to enjoy and learn more about your hobbies and interests.
If you're into dance join a dance class, a dance crew, or enter the competition circuit.
Same with music, attend open mics, form a band, try to get gigs, take lessons, etc. It doesn't matter if you don't become as successful as Linkin Park you're just doing it more for fun and you'll learn later that you have the option to stop a lot sooner than you think.
If you like video games competing is good too. Even just attending competitions is good. There are also conventions around gaming. Same if you're into comic books and stuff like that, you can cosplay and attend conventions.
Just because it's nerdy doesn't mean you won't meet any hot girls. Have you seen the girls on Twitch and female cosplayers lately?
If you're more active, join groups around the things you like, like trekking groups, paddleboarders, surfers, hikers, etc.
Even if you're more focused on building a business right now, you can attend seminars or join networking events around the industry you're trying to get into.
III. Build your core group
You want to join a number of social groups around your different interests and hobbies.
One is alright too but it'll be more restrictive and it'll grow your social life slower.
You don't want to only focus on making friends around the social groups and you don't need to worry much about attracting the girls in them at this point, the most important thing you're looking for at this stage is people who will follow you.
The way you do that is to just have things going on and invite all the people you get along with from the different social groups to join you.
Just go to all the places in your area that you wanna go to, attend all the events you wanna attend, and do all the activities you wanna do and invite everyone you get along with from the groups to join you. They don't have to be big things, they can just be restaurants you wanna try, hiking trails you wanna go on, sports events, concerts, parties you wanna attend, etc.
Don't wait on anybody, just invite everybody and go do stuff. This will naturally filter out the people who wouldn't follow you, who wouldn't really enjoy the other aspects of your life anyway, and who don't get along with your other friends.
The only ones that'll be left are the ones who will follow you, the ones who like you for more than one thing, and who all can get along with each other.
At this point, you can stop going to the social groups if you so choose and just fulfill your interests and hobbies with the people in your core group but if you still love whatever you do with the social groups then by all means, continue.
IV. Time to get the girls
Once you have your core group of people who will follow you, you should now organize regular stuff with that group. You can have parties every week, go on regular trips together, have a regular activity you do with each other, etc.
When you have that, go meet girls. Cold approach (you didn't think I was gonna let you avoid this, did you?), use online dating apps, start talking to the pretty ones in your social groups etc and invite all of them to your regular get-togethers all at the same time.
Also encourage your core group and the girls you meet through various ways to bring their friends to your get-togethers. The people in your core group might know girls that you'd be attracted to and you might also be attracted to the friends of the girls you cold approached.
Telling girls to bring their friends also keeps them more comfortable and the whole thing is an overall easier sell than a 1 on 1 date.
Just keep doing this for a while and eventually you'll be in a situation where the kind of girls you like will just come on their own, especially when you do this next step...
V. Tell everyone what you like
Literally.
Just be very open about the types of girls that you like, both physically and personality-wise.
The more candid you are about describing the types of girls you like, the easier it will be for everyone who hangs out with you to identify girls like that and introduce them to you.
One of the biggest things holding back your friends from setting you up with someone is just not knowing whether you'd be into the girl they're considering. So the more open you are about what you like, the more your friends will be able to identify a girl you like when they see her and having a regular get-together gives them a very good excuse to bring them over to meet you as opposed to doing something like setting you up on a blind date which is a lot more high pressure and harder to say yes to.
And if you think your current friends aren't like that even if they know what you like, odds are, those are friends by circumstance. As in, you're only friends because you just happen to be in the same place everyday like co-workers or classmates. Also, if you have "friends" that do things like saying embarrassing shit about you in front of a girl you like instead of helping you out then your standard for what a friend is might be too low.
I also suggest that if you invite your current friends along to join you as you live your life, don't wait on any of them either so that they will also go through your filter. Not waiting on anyone means you don't try to coordinate schedules, you do what you want when you want, the people who wanna join you either have to have time or make time because if they never ever have any time to join you then they don't make it through the filter.
You can still be friends with the people who can't be there all the time, them not getting through the filter just means you shouldn't expect them to help you much with your dating life.
Having people go through this filter and treating all of them with decency and respect will ensure that you'll end up with a group of people who are most likely to help you meet the girls that you want and achieve other things outside of dating as well.
VI. Don't be sexually or romantically forward
Not knowing this is usually why some people who try social circle game think it doesn't work because you will screw everything up if you are very direct.
As soon as girls see that you're blatantly hitting on someone, everyone else will close themselves off to you.
Also, if you try something with one girl and she rejects you, she will talk shit about you to her friends and you will have to get rid of that chunk of people otherwise they will spread things to the entire group and mess everything up.
And if you do succeed, everyone will see that too. What does that mean? That means everyone knows you fucked that one girl and that's all and good if you want her to be your girlfriend and don't want anything to do with the other girls but if you just wanted a casual thing, you won't be able to go back and get another girl from the group because she will know that she'd be getting sloppy seconds.
So what do you do instead?
You wanna be a flirt.
What's the difference between flirting and being a flirt? If you flirt with one girl, you're already flirting. But being a flirt means you flirt with everyone.
Flirt with everyone and never zero in on anyone until the last second and do it in secret.
If you flirt with everyone and never zero in on anyone, the girls will just think you're playing around, you're not being serious, and that flirting is just part of your personality. Hence, why its called "being a flirt."
The thing is, regardless of whether they think you're serious or not, flirting still affects them and all it takes is one girl to flirt back with you to start a chain reaction.
You see, if you have enough girls around and they can all see that you're the leader of the group, and everyone in the group has nothing but good things to say about you, once a girl starts flirting with you others will become competitive and will flirt too and that will cause even more of them to flirt.
What'll end up happening is that you will be the victim of sexual advances and from there, once you see a bunch of girls competing for your attention, you can just pick one and try to subtly disappear with her.
It'll kinda be like taking a girl home from a club where you make an excuse to leave except you're doing it more to give yourself an excuse so that everyone else won't know for sure that you slept with someone, they might suspect that you did but they'll also give you the benefit of the doubt.
And the most important thing, your top priority should not be getting laid. The girls will already be competing for your attention so odds are you'll get laid anyway as long as you give someone a chance.
Your priority should be to make sure everyone is having fun and things are all good.
That's what a good leader does and that will avoid the girls thinking you're just trying to fuck all of them which will make you look very sleazy and will make everyone want to stop hanging out with you.
Don't focus on getting value from others, focus on adding value to everyone.
This might sound like a lot of work but its only in the beginning. Once it gets big enough it becomes very passive, to the point that cold approach or online dating become unnecessary, all you'll have to do once it gets to that point is show up to your get togethers and you'll always have a plethora of pretty girls to choose from.
And that is how you stop the mental gymnastics and build real, tangible abundance that kills your neediness and gets girls chasing you.
...
This part is for everyone reading this
Building this type of abundant dating life where you're the one who is pursued and you're the one who gets to choose is the main focus of the Facebook group I run so if you want to join us and learn more ways to build abundance and more ways to have women pursuing you then send me a direct message.

2020.09.24 18:05 gowildandfilmit3 Heading to Texas

You headed to Utah to pick up Meghann and bring her back to Texas after convincing her to leave her husband. You had already seen her at the airport, met some of her family and saw some of her friends. The car was packed to the brim with Meghann's stuff, or at least all that would fit, and you were ready to go. At the last moment, you called up Meghann's two best friends Heather and Cassandra. They've been her closest friend through this whole mess and have even helped her tap into her crazy wild side. There had been many a night where you would receive topless pictures of either Meghann or Heather. Now, you and Meghann head to a motel and are waiting for Cassandra and Heather to arrive for one last night of partying with them before leaving for Texas.
You arrive with Meghann at the motel room and as usual there is no sign of your other two friends. The motel room is nicer than most but not by much. It's arranged in a C shape, with a sofa and desk at the entry way, a bathroom in the middle that blocks the desk from the bed, and a king sized bed on the other end with the door for the bathroom being close to the bed. You head to the car and unload some of the alcohol and mixers with Meghann who heads to the bathroom. While Meghann showers, you mix a couple of drinks. you make yours a bit weak and make hers a bit strong. Meghann comes out of the bathroom fully dressed and you hand her her drink. Heather and Cassandra (who goes by Cass) should be arriving soon.
As you hand Meghann her strong drink, you look at your watch and mention the time. Heather and Cass should be here any minute. The drink goes down rather quick and you can see signs of inebriation. You finish off your drink seconds before you hear Heather honk the horn. Heather and Cass come into the room and it is instantly turned into a party. The music gets turned on, everyone is dancing by the bed, and you mix drinks for the girls.
Heather looks at Meghann and says "I can't believe you're fucking leaving! Dude, you know how fucked up this is right?" Cass quickly reminds Heather that you don't think it is as bad as they do. Anyway, the four of you have a bunch of space to party in and randomly choose the bed as the prime spot to do so.
Meghann says to Heather, "dude you know I had to get out of there. Our girls nights were the only thing keeping me sane!" You busy yourself with making drinks as the girls talk but head slightly closer to them. Heather says something about there being more than enough of you to have nights like this but in Texas, Meghann says soberly.
> You say "I think I'm plenty enough for Meghann! At least until she makes some friends. I can take care of her just fine" You knew rebelliously saying this would get you some looks from the girls and you're right.
> You say "I mean... I know it won't be like y'all's girls nights, but I'm sure I can find a reason for Meghann to take a picture of her titties! " Cass cuts in and pulls up your comment. Cass says "Hah! I like this guy already!" with a smirk, which troubles you.
> You say "I do what I can" You lean in behind Meghann and put your arm around her in a side hug. Cass then says "I still can't believe you figured out it was Meghann's ass in that picture we sent." as the look of disbelief appears on her face again. "Hah! I remembered her asking me what type of pic she should take and I knew she would probably do something like that to show off! Although..."
> You say "I'm just glad Heather talked Meghann into taking a pic of her vag!" You knew that was pushing it, but they were going in a good flow of jokes and you wanted to join in on it. Cass asks "Why didn't she ask you?!"
> You say "ask me what?" "how to take a good picture of her hole." you say. You nearly see Cass spit out her drink in shock that you just said and Heather can't quite do it.
> You say "Well heather was nice enough to send one first! Meghann even took the picture!" Meghann starts laughing and slurs out "fuuuuck... haha! you've got a lot of stupid jokes!" Cass giggles too before saying "I might be as drunk as her but that was funny."
> You say "I'm glad Heather isn't shy with photos. It really helped out for while Meghann and I were apart" Meghann cuts in "Bullshiiiiiit.... you missed flirting with me that badly huh?
> You say "Hell yeah I did! It was tough only getting to see bits of nudity from you once a week" You hug her from behind while she lets you. Cass cuts in and asks "wait did Heather take ALL of the pics from back then?" You turn quiet at the question.
> You say "I think she took most of them. Meghann did eventually send me some full nudes she took of herself" Cass is clearly interested "Hm... well we ABOUT those!" Disgustedly, you reply slurring your words because the marijuana has gotten to your head.
> You say "Meghann, did you show them those pictures?" She laughs."I was waiting for you!!" Both the girls lean a bit into you, with Heather putting her hand on your leg.
> You say "ok, who wants to see Meghanns nudie pictures she took?" Meghann just holds her hands out to reveal a smart phone sized device with a touchscreen. Heather is quickly grabbing it and searching for the pictures, eventually acessing photo library.
> You say "Did you find the pictures?" Meghann taps Cass on the shoulder and hands her the phone, who puts it on full brightness so everyone could see.
> You say "How does Meghann look? Not bad pictures right?" You look on the screen. Naked, Meghann in her bathroom without a casewrapping her black hair into a bun.
> You say "You know how much effort it took to get Meghann to take that one? I got off to it tons of times" Everyone laughs. The next one is Meghann naked too without a top. How drunk did you let her get?! Next one, it looks like she took it with both of you.
> You say "That last one we took at the airport. We haven't gotten to take many pictures together yet." Megham kisses you on the cheek blushing, and the rest of you look at more pictures. This one? Ew no. That one is just of her head.
> You say "We all have to take some pictures. Lets do a group shot before we get too drunk" With those words, you hop to your feet and everyone does. Well everyone else sits in the bed but enough people could take a good group photo.
> You say "everyone say titties!" "TITTIES!!" Everyone shout, and Cass takes a picture. Cass laughs and starts texting the picture to everyone in your phone.
> You say "Hey Heather, how about we put you in charge of the camera for taking pictures?"
> You say "Here Heater, take the digital camera." "Yes! I've always wanted to be in charge of pictures." Heather takes your phone and you could see her scrolling through some of the pre-mentioned pictures.
> You say "So Heather, what picture should we take first? Tell us how to pose and you take the picture" Heather grins, getting frisky. "Come on someone kiss! Then I'll be ready with the picture!"
> You kiss meghann. After smooching Heather is kind enough to take a picture of the two of you, with mouths wide open. Cass leans in.
> You say "how was that?" "Perfect." Heather lookes at your phone. "I like this guy." You quickly grab the phone before she could show the entire group of people what would be the topless shot. "Ahhh!"
> You say "Is that the picture we're taking next? haha" Heather gets more serious whilst looking at it "Yeah." turning to you, she pauses for a second.
> You say "lets do it! Who is the picture going to be of?" Cass decides that she'll be the photographer. Heather poses and everyone else is putting their arm around her or vaguely smiling at the phone, The phone camera flashes, mildly blinding everyone into a flawless picture. During one of the pictures, heather lifts her shirt and exposes her breast. Cass takes the picture and Heather quickly lowers her shirt again. Almost as if anticipating Cass would take that picture. Everyone starts laughing and Heather gets into a mock rage throwing pillow at Cass. Meghann says "ok, take my picture next!" She starts making poses under Heather's guidance who is holding the phone on it's side, every one approves of the different shots. then Heather says "get your tits out for one picture!" Heather added. "Just one!". Meghann smiles and complies, you feel akward doing this in such a large group but everyone seems to enjoy it, it's seen as a joke after all.
> You say "uh oh. I think cass is next for a titty picture" Theres an outburst of laughter shortly after hearing you speak. Heather stands up quickly "oh, so now you're doing a prophet act oh wise one?" > You say "Well I figured since you and Meghann took pictures with your titties out, cass would be the next one" "Oh! I have an idea it was your turn?" Everyone laughs and almost gets behind Cass because everyone got behind Heather before, all cheering.
> You say "my turn? Ok, well, I don't have titties. What should I flash for the camera?" Heather stands up "Well we got to see your cute butt, so you could flash that"
> You say "fair enough! Take a picture of my butt!" You pull your pants and underwear down slightly so that your but is hanging out for the camera, sure enough everyone starts laughing and taking pictures of your butt. You are a bit embarassed but laugh along with humiliation.
> You say "ok cass. Now it's time for you to take a picture with your huge titties out" Cass raises an eyebrow "They are not huge." And starts flipping out whiel laughing about someone besides her husband seeing her topless. Everyone starts chanting "topless, topless".
> You chant. Finally she agrees, seemingly out of embarrassment though the chant. "Fine i'll do it"
> You cheer. Mehgann helps her take the shirt off as the chant continues, you can feel how tense she is despite looking calm... Or everyone is just so excited they are ignoring it to enjoy the moment.
> You take a picture of cass. Cass pulls her phone out and quickly tries to take a picture. Everyone else lines up as well, eagerly wanting their topless photo. Cass says,"okay back away!"
> You say "alright. you did good. Nice tits cass!" "thanks....they aren't that big you know!" everyone laughs as Mehgann dashes over and hugs Cass tightly. "and they feel real here." Mehgann jumps on you and wrestles your to the ground tightly hugging you while laughing.
> You say "Hey meghann, you want to do a magic trick with me?" Mehgann nods excitedly, "Definetly!" She sits on the recliner and Mehgann, Everyone backs up to give you space.
> You say "ok. here's how we're going to do it. Cass, you take the photo camera and Heather, you take the video camera and record this" You walk up close to Mehgann and glance at Cass and Heather to see they are ready.
> You say "heather and cass, you wait here. Meghann and I are going to prepare over by the desk. It's going to be just a minute and we'll be right back " Mehgann and you walk to the desk both wanting to giggle but refraining from doing so. Mehgann whispers "What's the REAL trick? you whisper quietly so only meghann can hear, "Ok, so you and i are going to be together and dating right?" you ask meghann She smiles at you saying "obviously" you whisper quietly so only meghann can hear, "Ok, How about we fuck for the first time on camera and get heather and cass to film it and take pictures? It'll be crazy hot" Meghann begins to blush and realizes you're suggesting that You'll actually do it. whisper so only meghann can hear, "you up for it?" Meghann nods her head quickly and whispers back "maybe lets go now before j have second thoughts"
> You say "ok. heather and cass stay here. Meghann and I will go prepare. Heather and cass, no peaking ok?" Cass nods her head quickly while Heather complains "not fair, should be able to see the show".
> You say "we'll show you the magic trick in just a second. just hang tight and don't look ok?" > You say "meghann and I will go over by the desk in the other room where you can't see us. Heather and cass, wait here on the bed" As cass and Heather wait their the bed you pause for a moment looking at those two on it, wondering what they might do once you and meghann are out of the room. you whisper to meghann so only she can hear, "ok, take off all your clothes and I'll do the same. We need to be quick" Meghann nods as you both stand and begin stripping off your clothes. you whisper to meghann so only she can hear "you look fucking hot naked." as you drop your clothes on the floor. Meghann blushes slightly before retrieving her phone and turning around to show you her naked buttocks as she transfers all her clothes into the drawer of the desk.
> you whisper to meghann so only she can hear "ok, now you're going to face away from me and I'm going to pick you up, spread your legs in the air and put you down on my cock. then we'll run out to the bed and tell heather and cass that they are in charge of filming and directing our first porno. sound good?" Meghann nods and turns around, she spreads her legs ready for you and you begin lifting her. with both of you facing the same direction, you lift meghann and bring her down so that your cock enters her pussy. both of you are happy, excited and extremely horny. you shout towards the other room "cass and heather, are you ready with the cameras?" They reply with a solid yes and meghann tells you to go for it.
you walk quickly into the bedroom and show cass and heather that you're carrying meghann, that you're both naked, you're both facing heather and cass and your cock is inside meghann. meghann spreads her arms and her legs and you can clearly see your cock is inside her pussy. Meghann shouts "TA-DA! This is our fucking magic trick!" They flip out and begin taking images and pictures and videos. you shout out "welcome to Facundo and Meghann's first porno! Directed and filmed by Cass and Heather! what do you think? Want to help us enjoy our first time fucking?" Cass and Heather giggle together and Cass replies. "We want to make sure it looks perfect before we start shooting!" It seems they want to see your hot sexual action in comfort first.
> You keep fucking meghann while standing and carrying her. You continue putting your hands around meghann and you begin drawing back and forth. From the visual stimulus it seems to be working pretty well for her.
> You say "ok heather and cass. you're in charge of what we do. what should we do next?" Heather suggests that you keep going but turn a bit towards the bed so they get a clear view.
> You turn towards the bed and give heather a better view. Cass snaps away with the camera as you begin pushing a little deeper, and then pull out at the top of each movement. As you see more and more of Cass's stomach, your mind starts to wander...
> You say "how should we fuck next?" Heather suggests something you'd not exepct from a 33 old, Anal
> You say "that was quick! How about we save anal for a bit later. What else would we do?" She enthusiastically replies, "let's flip over!" Meghann seems equally as stunned as you are by Heather's commanding suggestions. You defer to each of them and go on in the current pose. you put meghann down on the bed and flip her over to a missionary style position and slide your cock into her pussy. you say to heather and cass "are you getting this on video?" Heather looks shocked and replies "I'm the only one with a camera!" You catch the subtle hint that she wants to be in charge of everything including the video.
> You keep fucking meghann. You proceed to have an interesting yet slow movement in which you move in and out of meghann at a reasonable pace. While this is happening heather climbs onto the bed you're on, getting behind you.
> You say "heather, what are you trying to see?" Heather mounts behind you and responds "I can't see a thing from the cameras angle, so I'm going to get into position while you keep thrusting!" this comes to surprise to meghann.
> You say "fuck yeah! You got it! I'll keep thrusting, you keep filming" "Sounds good to me!" says heather slyly Heather gets on her knees and begins sticking her fingers into your butthole.
> You say "wow! That's hot but you should but your fingers in meghanns ass if you want us to do anal" "You're right, it would make things easier for us" Heather pauses for a minute to put her fingers in your girlfriend's butthole and you can't help but groan at what she's doing.
> You say "Cass, did you get the picture of heather fingering meghanns asshole?" "Oh yeah, it's a good one! I almost came when Heather stuck her finger up your girlfriend's bum!" She pulls out all the stops and brings the conversation back to herself.
> You say "Meghann, you think it's ok if cass masturbates?" Meghann's head turns surprisingly quickly from looking at heather crouched behind you all the way over to Cass as she says "um" and then nods, continuing right where she left off before the distraction.
> You say "cass, you can masturbate if you like. Meghann says it's ok" Cass doesn't need an explanation and automically begins going down her shorts. Feeling left out you decide to just concentrate on meghann, specifically getting off.
> You say "heather and cass, how should meghann and i fuck next?" Cass quickly gets over her embarrassment and puts on her bossy teaching voice; she says "You should get meghann doggy style so you can see" as she turns to heather happily. you flip meghann over and put her on all fours. you put your cock back into her pussy and keep fucking meghann. You can see every thrust in vivid detail but lose site of her cute little bum poking up in the air which is unfortunate.
> You say "your asshole is so cute meghann" You smack your girlfriends left butt check rather hard and heather doens't seem to mind the view. you give it a kiss and push your tongue in a bit "Its very tasty"
> You say "did you get the picture of me licking her asshole?" heather just says "Um... Just the angle isn't ideal...." You watch heather get onto her knees behind the pair of your girlfriends tiny butt.
> You say "i think we should change it up and meghann should ride me. I'll get on bottom" After you say that meghann pops off you and gets into position, sitting on your hard on. You begin to see all the action which makes it better than than anything you've ever done!
> You say "heather are you still taking video?" Heather says "You want me to start recording it?" You nod as you start thrusting up into Meganan's body.
> You say "cass, are you still taking pictures?" Cass says "Oh! Sorry, got a bit distracted..." as she starts flipping through the picture. She stops suddenly and shows heather one.
> You say "what are you doing instead cass? are you masturbating?" Cass nods and whispers quietly "I'm playing with myself... all this dirty fun...." She pulls heather into a kiss as she starts fingering heather below.
> You say "ok meghann, i think it's time you put my cock in your ass before we lose our camera person" Megann pauses for a moment and says "But I don't have any lube... doesn't it hurt?" You reach over to the bed side table and find your half used bottle of cocoa butter lotion.
> You say "lets put this on your asshole. I think you'll love this" Taking the lotion in hand you squirt some on your fingers. You put your middle finger to her sphincter and push in gently but insistently with no troubles at all. "Say ahhh"
> You lay on your back and tell meghann to sit on your cock and put it in her asshole. Megann grabs your throbbing member and slowly ducks her plump rump over it, letting out a pleasurable sigh as it disappears inside. She places her hands on your chest as you do the same.
> You say "hell yeah! Heather, you getting video of me fucking meghann's ass?" Cass holds up her phone to show a close-up of Meganans backside descending slowly onto your groin as she sits down fully on it with a moan.
> You say "meghann you look amazing with my cock in your ass" Megann continues to sit there and moves her hips slowly back and forth a minute before saying anything. With it stuffed in her butt she says "Too much talking back there, come here."
> You say "hey cass, are you still masturbating?" Cass nods and smiles "Me too!" Heather adds before quickly changing the subject "this is sort of strange foreplay isn't it?"
> You say "hey meghann, is it ok if I finger cass and heather?" You watch as she goes "Hmmmmm...." then turns to Heather and Cass, nodding eagerly while saying "Yes! Do it!
> You finger cass and heather while fucking meghann. You smile and slip the scrap of spandex tied around your waist off then proceed to start fingering each gently.
> You say "hey meghann. can I fuck cass and heather too?" Meganan takes a deep breath and pauses for just a second before saying "I don't see why not.... they're into me so a lot of spit can make it possible. > You say "someone suck my cock please" Heather quickly gets onto to her knees and puts your erection in her haed. She begins sliding up and down it as Cass just gapes in awe. The blonde struggles to fit half of it into her mouth.
> You say "who wants their ass fucked?" Heather seems to notice your predicament as she points at her rectum and backs up to you, her bum hovering over your lap. > You fuck heather's ass. Apparently heather's rectum was the perfect fit for your member because it felt so snug and soft that you couldnt help but thrust in and out.
> You say "hey meghann, take a picture of me fucking heather's asshole" Meghann pulls out her phone and takes a photo of your private moments. She texts it to you and after looking at it, most likely Snapchat it to her and Cass.
> You say "girls, bend over and line up your assholes. I want to fuck each one" The two girls seem embarrassed and a bit shocked. Cass bends over as Heather follows Cass' lead, although both have a worried look on their faces not sure what you had in mind exactly.
> You thrust into heather's ass, then into meghann's ass, then into cass' ass. Cass backs up into the tip of your warm throbbing member. You slowly push into her rectum and her sphincter tightens as she lets out a breathy moan.
> You say "oh yeah! This is awesome" Meghann whispers "well, somebody's idea of heaven" She holds on to Cass to keep herself steady as she slides up and down your length.
> You say "everyone get on your knees and press your faces together" They each do exactly what you say as you grab Cass' hips and Mehghan grabs Cass' shoulders for balance.
> You say "get your faces close together" The three of them get in a triangle involving all their faces, just their faces though. You can't help but stare at their asses as you slowly enter Cass' backside. you grab the video camera and point it at the three naked ladies on their knees. you say you're about to cum and all of the girls open their mouths and stick out their tongues expectantly. They are all touching themselves and upon seeing that, you have a massive orgasm that coats all of their faces and tits with cum. You get some in their eyes and Despite your warnings. they all smile and wink at the camera before ending the recording.
> You say "alright ladies, how about each of you do a sign off for the video" Cass winking at the camera says "Hi I'm Cass. That was me taking a big load to the face" she smiles and sticks out her tongue swiveling it around to taste your warm salty offering. Heather takes the camera from you and looks playfully into it "Hey I'm Heather. Guess what? I just got facialed!" she giggles and proceeds to lick her lips, scooping up a bit of your seed on the end of her tongue before swallowing.
> You say "Your turn to do a sign off meghann" She grins and takes the camera from Heather "I'm Megan. You just witnessed three girls who all just had their pretty little faces sprayed with hot jizz. Hope you enjoyed our first GWA video. Bye bye"

2020.09.24 01:35 AllegedPervert [M4F] Somehow mixing monster girls and incest

So every time I play anything, not only roleplay but games and dnd I always choose to play a human. Why? I dunno. I like being boring I guess. But that's not the point here, the point being that it means I can't fulfill my dream of mixing monstergirls and incest. Why do I wanna do that? I dunno. I guess I'm a pervert. Either way there's actually a hack to mix the two of them. Either adoption, or step families, or even inlaws. If you feel like that could be fun then I hope I get a message from you. I open to most pairs except daughters. I'm too young to get a lot out of that one haha.
Anyhow, I'll leave some of my usual incest ideas. But if you have something else in mind let me know.
The date
There's a couple of variants for this one. It could either be a blind date set up online or by acquaintances without realizing we're family, but once there we decide to at least go through with it to not waste the trip, eventually realizing we like it as the night goes. Ooooor it could also be that I have a reunion, ball, work party, etc in which I couldn't get a date, or it cancelled on me last minute, so I find myself pulling all the favors I have to take you as a date without telling anyone you're family.
Genetic sexual attraction (I dunno. Maybe the monster genes are recessive or something)
I don't remember where I read it, but I remember reading that those that were adopted very early in their life, and then search for their biological family as adults, end up developing an attraction to them due to something like their brains wanting to make up for the closeness but not being able to discern between familial love and sexual attraction. Anyhow, don't quote me on that, I'm not a reliable source for an essay. The point here is that we can play out something like that. Either siblings or a mother and her son as they try to reconnect throughout a week, but not knowing why they begin to feel attracted towards the other. Having dreams together, looking for stuff online, stealing glances, furtive touches etc. We can discuss what's the tipping point that pushes them to each others arms.
Sharing a bed
For this one it could either be through some sort of holiday in which there's not enough beds, or due hard times in which we have to share a bed and perhaps even showers to save money.
Normalizing massages
It's unclear how or when it started, but perhaps we simply fell into the habit of giving each other massages after a hard die. Slowly becoming more comfortable with each other and more daring as we pushed the limits of what a platonic massage should be.
A couple in all but name only
Perhaps we've never crossed the line or even thought about it, but we might as well have already. We always enjoyed each other's company more than anyone else's, to the point in which any relation we might have is doomed as we always want to include the other. We spend our time together, we're each other confidant, and we're more comfortable with physical contact when it comes to us than any other family member. It's clear that there's something there, but what would push us over the edge.
Bets and games
Maybe in an alcohol filled night, games that were being played innocently begin to take a sexual turn. You know, truth or dare, card games, etc, GONE WRONG, GONE SEXUAL, like the clickbait videos. But it could also be as part of a bet in which one needs to follow the other orders for a whole day, turning into a maid, a slave, or even a pet (if you're into that) for his relative.
Runaways
Maybe we had a relationship going for years now, and tired of hiding every day we decide to go to a place where we can act like a real couple.
Fantasy
I love fantasy scenarios of any kind, so if you want to add that I'll love you because of it. Space, kings, apocalypse, anything goes.

2020.09.23 17:30 Hto215 How I Passed Security Plus With No IT Background

This is really long so I apologize in advance.
For those of you that are about to take the test, reading posts like these is what helped me pass.
I don't have an IT background. I was in the military and my job had nothing to do with IT. I blindly applied to a DoD Help Desk job and the recruiter told me I should get Sec+. After a lot of on and off I decided to go for it. I studied almost exactly 3 months. But looking back could've probably done it in one month. I was laid off 12 weeks and should've studied for it in that time, instead I started studying the day I went back to work full time. Work definitely got in the way of studying. I recently left my job and decided to buckle down and just sign up for the test. I bought a voucher that expires Sept 24 so I would stop dragging my feet and force myself to take the test before that date. Again, I had already been studying on and off for about three months but wanted to nail everything down pat.
Here are my methods:
Read the Kindle version of Darril Gibson's Get Certified Get Ahead (GCGA). This was a great book. For someone that had no clue about computer stuff, he makes it easy to understand. I enjoyed reading it. I didn't think it was dry and the Simpsons references were nice. I scored a 34/75 on exam at the beginning of the book. I wrote down all the Remember This sections of the book and reviewed those and the end of chapter reviews after finishing the book. Highly recommend if you're able to learn from a book. I believed I scored an 84% on the test at the end.
I bought the app to go along with the book. It was $8.49 from the app store for Android. Unfortunately the app crashed every time I used it but I made it work for my study purposes. I let the publisher know. Apparently it had to do with my phone model as they had not heard of that issue before. I have a Motorola G6. Anyway that app was helpful when it did work so I highly recommend.
After finishing the book I pulled up the exam objectives. I know I should've done that first thing. I realized that I didn't know half the objectives. I think it was that I didn't remember everything I read. In fact when I referred back to the book for certain things I honestly didn't even remember reading certain sections. That's why 3 months is too long to study, well at least for me. You start forgetting things. Anyway I listened to Professor Messer's YouTube series while making notes on the objective list. His course was good and for those of you that learn well from video, that's probably your best choice.
I purchased Prof Messer's study notes and practice exams. The first two exams I scored a 77. The third one I waited on and scored an 83. I retook all the exams later on and scored in the low 90s/high 80s.
I also bought Jason Dion's new 65 question practice exams that came out a few weeks ago on Udemy. I realized how much I didn't know or remember from the book. Directory traversal!? Wth is that? I got a 72 and a 68 on the first two exams. This is considered failing because an 80 is required to pass his exams. So I googled directory traversal and Mike Chapple's video series came up.
So I watched Mike Chapple's video series. I liked that he walked you through things like how an XSS and XSRF attack is done. He also demonstrated lots of command line tools. This definitely helped me understand those things is greater detail. Although some of the video topics were very dry. I took like 100 pages of notes while watching the videos. Did I retain everything? Certainly not. I recommend this series if you still need more study after reading GCGA and Prof Messer.
What's weird to me is that not everyone covers every single topic, whether it's the book or the video series I watched. This is why it's important to use multiple resources.
For the hands on portion, I followed the labs from GCGA. Although my Kali Linux VM never worked the way it was supposed to.
I went back to Dion's exam and passed the 3rd one with an 82. Nice! I took the 4th exam and scored a 78 I think.
The day before my exam I studied for about 9hrs. I used a Google doc that someone wrote up here on Reddit. It covers all the exam objectives. To whoever that fine person is, thank you very much.
Link: https://www.reddit.com/CompTIA/comments/hcv3sp/passed_security_2_hours_ago_with_844900/
I took Dion's 5th exam and scored a 78. So I only passed one exam. I was panicking and looked on reddit for answers. Turns out many people score in the mid to high 70s on his exams as still pass the actual exams. In my opinion, Dion's exams were perhaps tougher that the actual exam, probably because they cover stuff beyond the exam objectives. I think I'd still recommend them, there are lots of log questions and I didn't know much about reading logs before doing those exams.
If you really want to have an exam quality test, I'd say Prof Messer's are the way to go.
Total cost of study materials:
The book on Kindle: $10
The app: $8.49
Prof Messer's notes and exams: $40
Dion's exams on Udemy: $12.99
=$71.48
Now for the exam. I signed up to take it online. I read a few posts that people had severe technical difficulties with that and I started to panic. I looked to see if I could schedule in person and I'm not sure if testing centers or closed or just booked solid but there were no open spots for this month or next month. So online it had to be. I was super nervous and didn't sleep well the night before. My time for the exam was 12pm. I reviewed notes for a few hours. I signed on at 11:30 took pictures of my room, which pretty much only had a bunch of house plants and a desk and then a pic of my ID. I sent those in and suddenly the PearsonVue software closed on my computer and a minute later started buffering up the test. It was about around 11:45. The proctor never said a word to me. It was almost like I didn't even actually have a proctor. I took the test over WiFi and had a little stress about that but there were no issues. Overall I was impressed by how smooth everything went, the horror stories I had read made me nervous. Also my computer is 7 years old Windows 10 and it worked fine.
The exam was easier than I expected. I don't know if I just ended up getting an easy exam. Or maybe I over studied. I was worried it was going to be really challenging based on what I read on here. There were some questions that definitely only had one answer and it was obvious what it was. But a handful definitely had multiple potential answers. I know many people say they feel like they are failing the whole time. I felt pretty confident that I was not going to fail as I knew enough of the answers were definitely right. I skipped over the PBQs and answered all the multiple choice first. I had about 25mins left to do the PBQs. Then I reviewed my many flagged questions and changed some answers. I only got through about half of them when time ran out. Which could be for the best because who knows what would've happened if I changed all my answers.
The PBQs were difficult but similar in style to what Prof Messer's were, so definitely understand those. I used every minute of the 90 minutes and had 79 questions total. I scored an 821.
I read so many post on here saying "I passed and so can you" and thought yeah right, I don't know about that. But seriously if you put in the effort to study and take the practice exams and try to really understand the material, you will pass. Big thanks to everyone on this forum, Darril Gibson, Prof Messor, Jason Dion, and Mike Chapple.
Now I'm going to be moving so I just need to find a job. Please, if you have any questions, ask away!

2020.09.23 15:23 yokoonoyes Relating FDS to Christian Values in Regards to Dating and Marriage

I wasn’t sure what flair to use so I hope the one I chose is acceptable.
Anyway, I came to FDS a few months ago because of a suggestion made to me by a member from an anti porn sub and I fell completely in Iove. It’s the first time I felt validated by other women who (finally) share similar mindsets as I do in this world full of pickmes and niceguys. My STBX husband is a narcissistic, manipulative, emotionally, verbally, mentally abusive man who always made me feel like I was asking too much, expecting too much, talking too much, taking up too much space, and basically BEING too much. I quickly realized after joining this sub that I was trying to enforce (force) high quality values on a low quality man. He enabled a porn addiction for the entirety of our relationship, had anger issues, nothing was ever his fault, never followed through on his word, never made commitments. I was a pickme when I met him and was always the one taking initiative and making big decisions and coaxing and coaching him through the relationship. We ended up getting married and having a kid together 🥴 In the last year things came to a head several times with the porn and video game habits and eventually he got into counseling and stopped the porn and video games but seemed to think that was “going above and beyond” for me and if I expect anything more from him then I am “ungrateful” and oh yeah, did I mention we’re cHrIsTiAnS? 🥴🥴🥴
So finally I’d had enough and called it quits. One of the very big ways he’d try to manipulate me was by telling me I wasn’t being a godly wife by leaving him or “disrespecting” him and “treating him like a piece of shit” (AKA holding him accountable for his toxic behavior and refusing to put up for it/standing up for myself). He wanted me to believe that being a Christian wife meant staying quiet and submissive and showing him respect no matter what he did. And so many self proclaimed Christians are quick to spew verses about how a woman should be submissive, let the husband lead, blah blah blah. They turn a blind eye to all the verses that hold men accountable for their words and thoughts and actions.
As a Christian woman with an antiquated view on marriage impressed upon me by mainstream Christianity, I initially had a difficult time getting FDS values and Christian values to coexist until I looked more into the Bible and saw for myself that FDS values are actually very similar to New Testament scripture (which is the only Testament Christians should be applying to our lives, contrary to popular belief) on the purpose of marriage and the roles between a husband and wife. FDS is firm in the belief that you should never give a man who you are only dating 100% of yourself. The Bible also says this. Don’t move in with him, don’t wash his underwear, don’t cook his meals, don’t have his children, and don’t give him all of your commitment until he puts a ring on that finger. This isn’t to protect a woman’s sacred virginity to make her holy and pure for a man but to protect the WOMAN from getting stuck with a low value scrote who will spend the rest of their married life sitting back with his feet up and letting her do all the work, never valuing her the way God expects men to value their wives. God knows their are many-a-scrote out there and gave Christian women their very own handbook in avoiding LVM, finding HVM, and being HVW. In the very first book of the Bible Genesis, it explains that men should always take initiative, take the lead in a partnership and always always always be held accountable for their actions. When Adam and Eve took a bite from the forbidden fruit, God didn’t ask Eve “why did you force feed Adam?” He asked ADAM why he ate the fruit when he knew better and was a so-called leader of the family. And already off the bat Adam was a fuckboi and was like “Eve told me to do it, this is all her fault” and God was all like “No bruh YOU ate from the fruit that was your decision, can’t nobody MAKE you do anything. You were supposed to be a leader, I give you free will so you can make good and bad choices for yourself bruh, GTFO since you wanna be a bitch ass.” Another example is in the New Testament when Jesus himself explains how men and women should treat each other in a marriage: Women, submit yourselves to your husbands (there it is! The infamous verse every Christian LVM likes to spew out), and husbands love your wives and Christ loved the church... and gave himself for her. LVM don’t want to have that conversation. Christ took up his cross and committed himself to the church, eventually sacrificing himself for the church and the people. He gave everything he had for the church. He lead the church, he took care of the church, he made sure nothing and no one disrespected the church. And he wanted husbands to enact the same values towards their wives. But everyone ignores that part??
Ladies, and specifically anyone here who is Christian — you are a muhfuggin CHURCH ok? You are sacred and special and important and YOU are the prize. YOU are the end goal. And you deserve a man who is willing to take up his cross for you, a man who will do ANYTHING to make sure you are loved and respected and taken care of. He will not let anyone or anything desecrate you. He will LEAD and TAKE INITIATIVE and always hold himself ACCOUNTABLE. If a dude you’re with doesn’t love you like Christ loved the church, dump 👏🏼 him 👏🏼 sis 👏🏼 bc he is not a HV man.

2020.09.23 02:48 normancrane Iris [1/3]

Part 1 <-- You are here.
Part 2
Part 3 [Soon!]

Iris

The first person to ever tell me the theory was Iris. It was nighttime in 2015, and we were lying on an old mattress on the roof of a four-storey apartment building in a university town in southern Ontario. A party was going on downstairs to which we’d both been invited and from whose monotony we’d helped each other escape through an ordinary white door that said “No entrance”. It was summer. I remember the heat waves and the radiating warmth of the asphalt. Our semester was over and we had started existing until the next one started in the way all students exist when they don’t spend their months off at home or touring Europe. I could feel the bass thumping from below. I could see the infinite stars in the cloudless sky. The sound seemed so disconnected from the image. Iris and I weren’t dating, we were just friends, but she leaned toward me on the mattress that night until I could feel her breathing on my neck, and, with my eyes pointed spaceward, she began: “What if…”
Back then it was pure speculation, a wild fantasy inspired by the THC from the joint we were passing back and forth and uninhibited by the beer we’d already drunk. There was nothing scientific or even philosophical about Iris’ telling of it. The theory was a flight of imagination influenced by her name and personalized by the genetic defect of her eyes, which her doctors had said would render her blind by fifty. Even thirty-five seemed far away. It’s heartbreaking now to know that Iris never did live to experience her blindness—her own genetic fate interrupted by the genetic fate of the world—but that night, imagination, the quality Einstein called more important than knowledge, lit up both our brains in synapses of neon as we shared our joint, sucking it into glowing nothingness, Iris paranoid that she’d wake up one morning in eternal darkness despite the doctors’ assurances that her blindness would occur gradually, and me fearing that I would never find love, never share my life with anyone, but soothed at least by Iris’ words and her impossible ideas because Einstein was right, and imagination is magical enough to cure anything.

2025, Pre-

I graduated with a degree in one field, found a low paying job in another, got married, worked my way to slightly better pay, wanted to have a child, bought a Beagle named Pillow as a temporary substitute, lived in an apartment overlooking a green garbage bin that was always full of beer cans and pizza boxes, and held my wife, crying, when we found out that we couldn’t have children. Somewhere along the way my parents died and Kurt Schwaller, a physicist from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, proved a grand theory of everything that rather than being based on the vibrations of strings, was based on a property of particles called viscous time force. I never understood the details. To me they lacked imagination. The overriding point, the experts on television told us, was that given enough data and computing power we could now predict the outcome of anything. The effect was that no one wanted to study theoretical physics and everyone wanted to make breakthroughs in data collection systems and biological hardware. Hackers created a version of Linux that ran from DNA. Western Digital released the first working holographic storage drive. The NSA, FSB, BND and other agencies rushed to put their suddenly valuable mass of unprocessed raw spy data to prognostic use. A Chinese bookmaker known only by the nick ##!! wrote a piece of Python code that could predict the outcomes of hockey games. Within a month, the NHL and KHL were scrambling to come up with ways of saving their leagues by making them more unpredictable. They introduced elements of chance: power plays without penalties, a tilting ice surface, fluctuating rules that sometimes allowed for icings and offsides and sometimes not, and, finally, a pre-game lottery by which the names of the players on both teams were put into a pot and randomly drawn into two squads. Given enough variables, the strategy did thwart the code, but the inherent unfairness of the innovations alienated the players, the draft made owners question why they were paying the salaries of superstars who played against them half of the time, and the fans simply stopped paying attention to a league full of teams for which their already dwindling loyalty had bottomed out. Besides, the code was basic. ##!! had room to expand. The KHL folded first, followed by the NHL, and then the other sports leagues, preemptively. They didn’t bother to wait until their own codes were broken. I remember seeing an interview with ##!! while this was still front page news. The reporter, a perpetually smiling big-breasted blonde with blindingly white teeth, asked him if he thought that hockey could be rescued by the creation of roving blue lines that would continually alter the relative sizes of both offensive zones and the neutral zone. ##!! answered that he didn’t know what a blue line was because he’d never watched a hockey game in his life. His voice was cold, objective, and there was something terrifyingly inhuman about the idea that a person with no knowledge of a subject could nevertheless understand it so completely. Content had become a mere input of form.
By 2025, mainstream interest in the theory of everything faded, not because the theory was wrong but because it was too right and too abstract and now there weren’t any young theoretical physicists to help explain it using cute graphics on YouTube. We consumed what we understood and passively accepted the fallout while going on with our daily lives. The people who did understand made money, but for the rest of us the consequences were less than their potential, because even with enough time, memory and microprocessors the most we could know was the what and the when, not the why. For the governments and corporations pouring taxes and tax-free earnings into complex models of world domination, that didn’t matter. They weren’t interested in cause. They were in the business of exploiting certainty to gain power. As long as they could predict lightning, they were satisfied. If they could make it, all the better. Away from the cutting edge, however, like ants or ancients, what we craved to know was where the lightning came from, what it meant, and on that issue the theory was silent. As Kurt Schwaller put it in a speech to the United Nations, “All I’ve given you is a tool—a microscope to magnify the minutes, so to speak—with which to investigate in perfect detail the entirety of our interrelations. But the investigations still have to made, ladies and gentlemen. Have a hay stack, look for the needle. Know there might not be one.”
In January, my wife and I began a fertility treatment for which we’d been saving for years. It was undoubtedly the reason we became so emotionally involved in the media attention around Aiko, the lovely, black-haired and fashionable Crown Princess of Japan, who along with her husband was going through the same ordeal that we were. For a few months, it seemed as if the whole world sat on the edges of its seat, wishing for this beautiful royal couple to conceive. And we sat on two, our own and one somewhere in an exotic Japan updated by the royal Twitter feed. It strikes me now that royalty has always fascinated the proles, a feeling that historically went in tandem with hatred, respect or awe, but it was the Japanese who held our attentions the longest and the most genuinely in the twenty-first century, when equality had more or less rendered a hereditary ruling class obsolete. The British declared themselves post-Christian in 2014 and post-Royal in 2021, the European Court of Justice ruled all other European royals invalid in 2022, and the Muslim monarchs pompously degraded themselves one-by-one into their own exiles and executions. Only the Japanese line survived, adapting to the times by refusing to take itself seriously on anything but the most superficial level. They dressed nicely, acted politely and observed a social protocol that we admired without wanting to follow it ourselves. Before he died, my father had often marvelled that the Second World War began with Japan being led by an emperor god, and ended with the American occupation forcing him to renounce his divinity. The Japanese god had died because MacArthur willed it and Hirohito spoke it. Godhood was like plaque. If your mother told you to brush your teeth, off it went, provided you used the right flavour of Colgate. Kings had once ruled by divine right. By 2025, the Crown Princess of Japan ruled our hearts merely by popular approval. She was our special friend, with whom we were all on intimate and imaginary terms. Indeed, on the day she died—on the day they all died—Princess Aiko’s was the most friended account on Facebook.
That’s why March 27, 2025, was such a joyous occasion for us. In hindsight, it’s utterly sick to associate the date with happiness of any kind, but history must always be understood in context, and the context of the announcement was a wirelessly connected world whose collective hopes came suddenly true to the jingle of a breaking news story on the BBC. I was in the kitchen sauteing onions when I heard it. Cutting them had made me cry and my eyes were still red. Then the announcer’s voice broke as he was setting up his intro, and in a video clip that was subsequently rebroadcast, downloaded and parodied close to a billion times in the one hundred thirty-two days that followed, he said: “The Crown Princess of Japan is pregnant!”
I ran to the living room and hugged my wife, who’d fallen to her knees in front of the wall-mounted monitor. Pillow was doing laps on and off the sofa. The BBC cut away from the announcer’s joyful face to a live feed from Japan. As I held my wife, her body felt warm and full of life. The top of her jeans cut into her waist. Her tears wetted the top of my shirt sleeve. Both of our phones started to buzz—emails and Twitter notifications streaming in. On the monitor, Aiko and her husband, both of their angular faces larger than life in 110” 1080p, waved to the crowd in Tokyo and the billions watching around the world. They spoke in Japanese and a woman on the BBC translated, but we hardly needed to know her exact words to understand the emotions. If them, why not also us? I knew my wife was having the same thought. We, too, could have a family. Then I smelled burning oil and the pungency of onions and I remembered my sauteing. I gently removed my arms from around my wife’s shoulders and ran back to the kitchen, still listening to Aiko’s voice and its polite English echo, and my hands must have been shaking, or else my whole body was shaking, because after I had turned down the heat I reached for the handle of the frying pan, knocked the pan off the stove top instead, and burned myself while stupidly trying to catch it before it fell, clattering, to the floor. The burned onions splattered. I’d cracked one of the kitchen tiles. My hand turned pale and I felt a numbness before my skin started to overflow with the warmth of pain. Without turning off the broadcast, my wife shooed me downstairs to the garage where we kept our car and drove me to the hospital.
The Toronto streets were raucous. Horns honked. J-pop blared. In the commotion we nearly hit a pedestrian, a middle-aged white woman pushing a baby carriage, who’d cut across Lake Shore without looking both ways. She had appeared suddenly from behind a parked transport—and my wife instinctively jerked the car from the left lane to the right, scraping our side mirror against the truck but saving two lives. The woman barely noticed. She disappeared into a crowd of Asian kids on the other side of street who were dancing to electronica and waving half a dozen Japanese flags, one of which was the Rising Sun Flag, the military flag of Imperial Japan. Clutching my wrist in the hope it would dull the pain in my hand, I wondered how many of them knew about the suffering Japanese soldiers had inflicted on countless Chinese in the name of that flag. To the right, Lake Ontario shone and sparkled in the late afternoon light. A passenger jet took off from Toronto Island Airport and climbed into the sky.
In the hospital waiting room, I sat next to a woman who was reading a movie magazine with Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s face on the cover. The Cannes film festival was coming up. My wife checked me in at the reception desk. The woman beside me put down her magazine and told me that she was there with her son, as if needing to justify her presence. I affirmed by nodding. He’d hurt his leg playing soccer for a local Armenian junior boys team, she went on. I said I’d hurt myself frying onions and that I was here with my wife. She said my wife was pretty and asked if I liked movies. Without meaning to do it, I tried to guess her age—unsuccessfully—and proceeded to imagine having doggy style sex with her. She had dark eyes that barely blinked and plump thighs. When I started to feel guilty, I answered her question: sometimes I watched movies at home, but I hadn’t been to a theatre in a decade. When my wife sat down, I let the two of them talk about the woman’s son. I was having trouble concentrating. I took my phone out of my pocket and read all the new emails about the royal conception, then stared at the seconds hand going slowly around its digital clock face on my home screen, wondering why we so often emulated the limitations of analogue machines on devices that were no longer bound by them. I switched my clock type to a digital readout. Now the seconds no longer rotated but flickered away. They called my name over the crackling intercom and a nurse led me to one of the empty rooms. “How about that baby,” he said while we walked. I didn’t see his face, only the shaved back of his head. “The things they can do these days, even for infertile couples.”
I waited for over thirty minutes for a doctor. When one came in, she inspected my hand for less than ten seconds before telling me that I was fine and hinting that I shouldn’t have wasted her time by coming to the emergency room. She had high cheek bones, thin lips and bony wrists. Her tablet had a faux clipboard wallpaper. Maybe I had only misinterpreted her tone. “How about that baby,” I said.
“It’s not a baby yet,” she answered.
This time her tone was impossible to misinterpret. I was only repeating what the nurse had said, I told myself. But I didn’t say that to her. Instead, I imagined her coming home at night to an empty apartment, furnished possibly in a minimalistic Japanese or Swedish style, brewing a cup of black coffee and settling into an armchair to re-read a Simone de Beauvoir novel. I was about to imagine having sex with her when I caught hold of myself and wondered what was up with me today.
When I got back to the waiting room, my wife was no longer there—but the Armenian woman was. She pointed down the hall and told me a room number. She said that sometime after I left, my wife had gotten a cramp and started to vomit all over the floor. Someone was still mopping up. The other people in the waiting room, which was filling up, gave me tactfully dirty looks, either because I was with the vomiter or because I’d shirked my responsible by being away during the vomiting. Irrationally, I wiped my own mouth and fled down the hall.
Inside the numbered room, my wife was sitting hunched over on an observation bed, slowly kicking her feet back and forth. “Are you OK?” I asked.
“Come here,” she said.
I did, and sat beside her on the bed. I repeated my question. She still smelled a little of vomit, but she looked up at me like the world’s luckiest puppy, her eyes big and glassy, and said, “Norman, I’m pregnant.”
That’s all she could say—
That’s all either of us could say for a while.
We just sat there on the examination bed like a pair of best friends on a swing set after dark, dangling our feet and taking turns pulling each other closer. “Are you sure?” I finally asked. My voice was hoarse. I sounded like a frog.
“Yes.” She kicked the heel of my shoe with the rubber toe of hers. “We’re going to have a baby.”
It was beautiful. The most wonderful moment of my life. I remembered the day we met and our little marriage ceremony. I thought about being a father, and felt positively terrified, and about being a better husband, and felt absolutely determined, and as I kissed my wife there in the little hospital room with its sterile green walls, I imagined making love to her. I kept imagining it as we drove back to the apartment through partying Toronto streets. “Not since the Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup!” the radio announcer proclaimed—before I turned him off. I also turned off my phone and my wife’s phone. No more buzzing. In the underground parking lot, I leaned over and licked her soft neck. I pushed her through the open apartment door and straight into the living room, onto the sofa, and wished I could be the cushions beneath her thighs and the air invading her lungs. Pillow barked a greeting and wagged her tail. The monitor on the wall showed talking heads and fertility experts. I unbuttoned my wife’s blouse. She unbuckled my belt. The picture on the monitor dissolved to a close-up of Aiko’s smiling face. My wife and I took turns sliding off each other’s jeans. I kissed her bare stomach. She ran her hands through my hair. I dimmed the lights. We made love.
When we were done it was starry nighttime. My wife bandaged my hand. We turned off the television. The silence was refreshing because people on television too often talk like they’re trying to push you off a ledge. My wife excused me from the duty of making supper because of my ineptness with the frying pan, and handed me a leash instead. I hooked it up to Pillow’s collar and took her outside. While she peed, I gazed up at the sky and identified the Big Dipper. It and the Little Dipper were the only constellations I could identify without using a smartphone app. After Pillow finished, we ducked into a nook and I peed, too. The March sky was amazingly clear of smog. My urine splashed on the concrete and I felt embarrassingly primal. I breathed in, shook out the last drops and zipped up.
In the apartment, we ate grilled portabella mushrooms topped with parmesan and parsley and drank brown rice tea. My wife had changed into fresh clothes. I had changed into fresh skin. Every time she said “mom” and “dad”, the words discharged trickles of electricity up and down my peripheral nervous system. We were happy; we were going to have a baby. The whole world was happy; the Crown Princess of Japan of was going to have a baby. The sounds of drunken urban celebrations drifted in through our bedroom window all night like fog, and we barely slept.

2025, Post-

Gold is precious because it’s rare. Now close your eyes and imagine that the next time you open them, everything in your world will be golden: your kitchen table, the bananas you bought on the way home from work yesterday, your bottle of shampoo, even your teeth. Now blink. You’re not alone. The market’s flooded. Gold isn’t rare anymore. It’s everywhere. Which means that it’s worth about as much as its weight in mud, because there’s nothing intrinsically good about gold. Can you write on your gold table? It scratches. Surely you can’t eat your golden fruit. Your shampoo’s not a liquid anymore, so your hair’s already starting to get greasy. And if you do find something to eat that’s not made of metal, how long will those gold teeth last before you grind them into finely polished nubs?
For two days the Earth glittered.
For two days we lived in a daze of perfection.
And then, on March 29, a researcher working with lab mice at Stanford University noticed something odd. All of his female mice were pregnant. He contacted several of his colleagues who were also working with mice, rats, and monkeys. All their female animals were pregnant, too. Some of the colleagues had wives and girlfriends. They took innocent-seeming trips to their local pharmacies and bought up all the available pregnancy tests. At home, women took test after test and all of them showed positive. By midnight, the researchers had drafted a joint letter and sent copies of it to the major newspapers in their countries. On the morning of March 30, the news hit.
When I checked my Twitter feed after breakfast, #impregtoo was already trending. Throughout the day, Reddit lit up with increasingly bizarre accounts of pregnancies that physically couldn’t be but, apparently, were. Post-menopausal women, celibate women, prepubescent girls, women who’d had their uteruses removed only to discover that their reproductive systems had spontaneously regenerated like the severed tales of lizards. Existing early stage pregnancies aborted themselves and re-fertilized, like a system rebooting. Later term pregnancies developed Matryoshka-like pregnancies nested within pregnancies. After a while, I stopped reading, choosing to spend time with my wife instead. As night fell, we reclined on the sofa, her head on my chest, Pillow curled up in our tangle of feet, the television off, and the streets of Toronto eerily quiet save for the intermittent blaring of far off sirens, as any lingering doubts about the reality of the situation melted away like the brief, late season snow that floated gently down from the sky, blackening the streets.
On March 30, the World Health Organization issued a communique confirming that based on the available data it was reasonable to assume that all female mammals were pregnant. No cause was identified. It urged any woman who was not pregnant to step forward immediately. Otherwise, the communique offered no guidance. It indicated merely that the organization was already working with governments around the world to prepare for a massive influx of human population in approximately nine months’ time. Most places, including Toronto, reacted with stunned panic. Non-essential workplaces and schools were decried closed. People were urged to stay indoors. Hospitals prepared for possible complications. A few supermarkets ran out of canned food and there were several bank runs, but nothing happened that the existing systems couldn’t handle. Populations kept their nerve. Highway and air traffic increased slightly as people rushed to be with their friends, families and gynaecologists. We spent the entire day in our apartment and let Pillow pee in the tub. Except for the conspiracy theorists, who believed that the Earth was being cosmically pollinated by aliens, most of us weren’t scared to go outside, but we were scared of the unknown, and we preferred to process that fear in the comfort of our own dens.
The New York Times ran a front page editorial arguing for an evaluation of the situation using Kurt Schwaller’s theory of everything. In conjunction with The Washington Post, The Guardian and The Wikipedia Foundation, a website was set up asking users for technical help, monetary donations and the sharing of any surplus computing power.
The project quickly ran into problems. To accurately predict anything, the theory of everything needed sufficient data, and, on April 2, cryptome.org published a series of leaked emails between the French Minister of Health and a high-ranking member of World Health Organization that proved the latter’s communique had been disingenuous at best. Externally, the World Health Organization had concluded that all female mammals were pregnant. That remained true. However, it had failed to admit an even more baffling development: the wombs of all female mammals had inexplicably become impenetrable to all rays and materials that had so far been tried against them. For all intents and purposes, there was no way to see inside the womb, or to destroy it. The only way to revert the body to its natural form, to terminate the pregnancy, was to kill the woman—an experiment that, according to the high-ranking member of the World Health Organization, the French government had helped conduct on unwilling women in Mali. Both parties issued repeated denials until a video surfaced showing the murders. I couldn’t bring myself to watch it. They spun their denials into arguments about the necessity of sacrificing lives for the greater good.
Reminded once again of the deception inherent in politics, many turned to religion, but the mainstream religions were hesitant to react. They offered few opinions and no answers. The fringe religions split into two camps. Some leaders welcomed this development, the greatest of all known miracles, while others denounced the same as a universal and unnatural punishment for our collective sins of hedonism, egoism and pride. The most successful of all was the Tribe of Akna, a vaguely mystical Maya revival cult that sprang up seemingly overnight and was led by a Guatemalan freelance programmer named Salvador Abaroa. Although it originated in Mexico City, the Tribe spread as quickly across the world as the computer viruses that Abaroa was notorious for creating. On the Tribe’s homepage, Abaroa could be seen striking an antique brass gong and saying in Spanish-tinged English, “Like energy, life is never destroyed. Every one of us plays an integral part of the cosmic ecosystem. Every man, woman and virus.” Elsewhere on the website, you could buy self-published theological textbooks, listen to scratchy recordings of speeches by Alan Watts and read about the hypothesis that Maya thought was deeply connected to Buddhism because the Mayans had crossed the Pacific Ocean and colonized Asia.
But despite the apparent international cooperation happening at the highest levels, the first week of April was an atomizing period for the so-called people on the ground. We hunkered down. Most personal communication was digital. My wife and I exchanged emails with her parents and sister, but we met no one face-to-face, not even on Skype. We neither invited our neighbours to dinner nor were invited by them, despite how easy it was to walk down the hall and knock. I read far more than I wrote, and even when I did write, responding to a blog post or news story, I found it easier to relate to strangers than to the people I knew. My wife said I had a high tolerance for solitude. “Who do you know in the city?” she asked. Although we’d been living here together for three years, she still considered Toronto mine. She was the stranger, I was the native. I said that I knew a few people from work. She told me to call one of them I’d never called before. I did, and the next day’s sky was cloudless and sunny and there were five of us in the apartment: my wife and I, my friend Bakshi and his wife Jacinda, and their daughter, Greta. Greta drank apple juice while the rest of us drank wine, and all five of us gorged ourselves on freshly baked peach cobbler, laughing at silly faces and cracking immature jokes. It hardly registered for me that the majority of the room was unstoppably pregnant, but wasn’t that the point: to forget—if only for a few hours? Instead of watching the BBC, we streamed BDRips of Hayao Miyazaki movies from The Pirate Bay. Porco Rosso ruled the skies, castles flew, a Catbus arrived at its magical stop. Then Bakshi’s phone rang, and he excused himself from the table to take the call. When he returned, his face was grey. “What’s the matter?” Jacinda asked him. He was still holding the phone to his ear. “It’s Kurt Schwaller,” he said. “They just found his body. They think he killed himself.”

2020.09.23 02:17 hiddenthrowaway4 My (26M) girlfriend (24F) and I have decided to "take a break" because she said she loved both me and someone else. I went no-contact for the last 3 weeks. How should I address how I feel when I decide to speak to her again?

This happened at the beginning of this month, but the whole story has taken place over a period of a year and a half. I know reddit doesn't like to read, so I'm posting on a throwaway account, and I'll keep it as simple as I can to make life easier on both of us.
My girlfriend and I have been dating for about 4 years. We've been through the end of undergrad at the same college together, and we've talked about marriage and moving out and how many children we want- all basic life stuff. She lives in the rich part of town with her parents in their house and is currently studying for her master's degree online. I've always been flat broke and lived in the same shitty house for my entire life with my parents. Regardless, we've always had big dreams about where we wanted to end up together after she finished school and when I can start making money from my career in the arts.
I've been working on a passion project of mine since undergrad, but I am like every artist and my passion for said project ebbs and flows. It was especially bad in 2019, when in the beginning, my grandmother died. She was the most supportive person in my immediate family (I have a bad relationship or a distant one with most of them), and no one in my life had ever died before, so I took this rather hard. I didn't recognize what I was feeling was grief until it began to take a toll on my relationship. My girlfriend and I fought more about trivial things, and there was even a point where I was so outlandish to disguise the pain I was feeling that she considered the way I socialized with our mutual friends was an embarrassment, and she called me one. I hadn't realized it until she had done this, but I had wasted so much time retreating into video games, my online friends, and other vices that my growth as a person had been stunted. I couldn't accept myself or focus on what I was trying to make of my future because I was too busy picking up the pieces of a family in shambles (I won't go into details) and putting out fires in our relationship at the same time. Our sex life suffered because we were never on the same page, and I have issues surrounding sex from some traumatic incidents that I didn't realize were affecting my passion for it until just recently.
Regardless of all of this, I still wanted to make it work and make 25 a year of progress. In the fall, my girlfriend thew me a great birthday party at a nice brewery where my online friends and our mutual friends gathered and celebrated with me. I could see that it meant a lot to both of us that she had given me the best birthday I'd ever had. Although there were some minor culture clashes among the two groups we brought together, things ended well that day and I showed my friends the wonders of my city.
Smash cut to later that fall, about a month had gone by, and my girlfriend was going to meet her own online friends the next town over. They were going to drink (something I don't partake of) and hang out at a barcade for three days. I told her to bring me back a souvenir and have fun, not really thinking much of it. I wanted her to have a good time with friends that she'd grown to know pretty well in the last few months. I toiled away at my part-time job in the meantime, but I heard back from her somewhat frequently just talking about unimportant things and small talk, then she'd go right back to the group and their games. On Sunday, one night before she was set to come home, and I was set to work that morning, she texted and said that she'd be home by that night and that we needed to talk. I jokingly asked what she had done, but she insisted it was nothing to be worried about.
When I got to her house, she sat me down and told me about that weekend. About her first experience with edible marijuana, about her pulling a guy that she knew may have had feelings for her away from the bar when he blacked out but wanted to keep drinking, about how she had confronted him about his excessiveness and his feelings when they finally got a moment alone. (We'll call this dude Al Coholic.) So my girlfriend and Al find a moment's peace in a separate hotel room and they began to talk. She addresses his heavy drinking in her presence, even when he first wakes up in the morning. He says he has feelings for her and asks her if she feels the same way. For some reason, even though she swears she wanted to say no (a likely story), my girlfriend says yes.
When I heard this, I hit the ceiling. I told her how she thought that that wasn't that bad and how it meant nothing. I told her that it really meant that she hadn't even considered me in any decisions she'd made on her bender in the three days she'd been on it. She nodded her head a lot and cried and couldn't answer any of the questions I had put forth. I knew that she realized what she had done, and that she hadn't seen it as anything more than acknowledging a stupid crush a boy had on her that she didn't know how to handle. She had gotten this kind of attention before in high school when she was in a committed relationship, as had I; but we both learned from it not to take who we were with for granted because of outside factors and people because compromise and honesty were paramount.
I went home, furious and wondering if I should stay with her. I remained confused for the next two days, during which I flip-flopped between acceptance and wanting peace, then back to anger. I let her know I was angry, but she got mad right back and said it felt like I was punishing her like a child. We ended up agreeing to try and make it work and she told me that she'd break off talking to Al and that we'd be ok and try to have a decent holiday season when it came.
At Christmas, she told me Al had been doing some serious drinking and had contacted her again, even after she advised him not to. She said that she had tried to reject his advances, but she still felt like those feelings were unsettled business, and so she indulged his advances. They only could speak through text, given that he had a full time job, but I could tell that this was a major threat and it broke my trust. I wondered if it meant Christmas was ruined and how I could possibly face her family knowing what I did (I always go to her house for Christmas). She tells me she's sorry for being a "dumb hoe," and wonders how I could forgive her. I don't have an answer, but I want to try again and make this work for the sake of saving face and remaining the good natured person I am. We hug it out in front of her family and actually have a nice holiday dinner, while I struggle to bury my rage and distrust. We find a spot on her couch to talk after dinner and she apologizes and makes promises to me that things will be different. I don't know why, but this apology seemed more genuine, and she seemed to be aware that this was a toxic thing to keep involving herself in. That alone was more introspection than she'd shown the last time, so I had reason to believe her (or so I thought).
Al disappears into the ether. Apparently he went to go live with his extended family for a spell and didn't get on any of his social media or video game consoles to play with my girlfriend. All was quiet and right with the world. Sex was still weird because my girlfriend was switching birth controls, but we tried when we could to pick up the pieces. She even made it a point to tell me that Al wasn't even cute and that she was a clown for ever thinking it could have worked between them. In that time, I even got a new job that allowed me to focus on my art AND make money, so I was as happy as a pig in mud.
Then, the COVID nation attacked. I lost my new job, and I had to stay at home on unemployment because my parents and my girlfriend's were both high risk. During the summer, I stayed at her house for weeks at a time before going home for periods of two weeks to get supplies and get my affairs in order, then I'd go right back after that. In that time, Al had supposedly tried to kill himself, and so all of their mutual friends were trying to get him to go to rehab or AA for his state. I even saw my girlfriend texting him occasionally through a group chat, and I wasn't happy about it, but she swore it was just to give him advice since she had alcoholics in her family and she was going to council addicts when she got her degree. I was supposed to see her on September 8th, two weeks after my last visit, and then I'd stay until after my birthday later that month.
On August 31st, I get a facetime call from her where she admits that Al had come back and she had been texting him privately the whole time we were together and after I left. She said she couldn't lie anymore and that she, "loved us both." I was crushed and asked what she thought we could do, and she said she didn't know, but maybe she had to be single for a while to figure it out. I asked her what it was about him that she just couldn't let go, and she said that they thought in similar patterns, she admired that he had a stable full time job, a car, and an apartment of his own (which I don't), and that the worst part of all of this was that none of it was my fault. Her friends encouraged her, saying that if our relationship was bothering her so much, then maybe her feelings here had some merit (her friends are all single, and she even got a psychic reading that said Al and her confronting this issue were "in her path" or some bullshit). Tired of fighting, I told her to schedule whatever in-person meeting she had to with him and to just go. I was pissed at her godawful timing and wondered how she'd explain this to her parents, who really like me and wanted to see us get married. They even took my side a lot in our debates and called me a keeper, stopping my girlfriend in the hallway and saying things like, "Don't you ever break up with him, it'd be a mistake." It would be another ruined birthday sentiment this year.
In fact, when she got back from seeing him, she called it a "date," which she hadn't done previously, and she said she'd be lying if she didn't admit that she enjoyed herself. This was absolutely unacceptable, so I told her I loved her one last time before taking the space I deemed necessary. I've known people like Al my whole life. Alcoholics want other people to drink with them so that they can make others share in their misery. He even admitted to using her for his own emotional gain the first time they talked and right after Christmas, and yet she still went back because he validates her in a similar way to what she wanted all along from her father. A blind man could see that it wouldn't end well. Hell, she's a fan of Coraline by Neil Gaiman, and she doesn't recognize that the wrong people can offer you anything that sounds good enough, but you've got to have enough confidence and self respect to refuse. I made it a point to remind her that she can't save everyone, no matter what kind of counselor she thinks she is or how good her advice may be (this just made her mad).
I wondered how much I had to do with how she felt. Had my grief shown her the crippling possibility that she couldn't be my top priority in life for ten seconds and that pissed her off? Was it how hesitant my trauma made me about sex and our failure to communicate safewords, etc? I acknowledged that I might have made her feel lonely and distressed, but I was the same way and I didn't emotionally cheat on someone. I tried to see it from every angle, but a week passed, and I asked how she was. She said she was great, apologized in a very basic way for how she had treated me, and said she hoped that we could talk about the "post-mortem" (another phrasing I didn't like) at some point and that she just hoped I could be happy. I told her text wasn't really the place I wanted to hear an apology and that it was a bad time. This made her angry, and she made it a point to remind me that I, "wasn't the only one going through things and I needed to understand that." That broke any illusion of her being ok. I apologized for my aggressive tone and decided to take the standard 3-week no contact period and apply it.
It's been about three weeks since then, and she's only contacted me twice since then, even though she said I had to be the one to reach out to her. Once was with a job listing she knew applied to me at our old college, and the other was a happy birthday wish. Even then, I expected just the words, "happy birthday," but her interaction was so robotic and disingenuous that she followed it up with, "Got anything fun planned for today?" I was as civil as I could be, only giving one sentence answers and trying to remain neutral and not give off a lot of info. She reacted to almost all of my texts (like you do on an iphone with the little 'like' thumbs and 'haha' bubbles), which seemed excessive and strange. She used to do that before, but never like this. Then, she just said, "Have fun!" and we left it at that.
I'm at a loss as to what to say to her when I reach out. I feel like I should, even though I am aware I owe her nothing and have nothing to prove. And before anyone asks, I have no reason to believe that she did anything physical with Al given the amount of time they were together and how public it was, but I have not seen her in a month. When I told my best friend about it, she said that she's be surprised if Al ever made it inside the door of her parents' house, and that was if they agreed to start dating. I'm of the mindset now of, "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes," and I know that my girlfriend thinks she can fix this guy because he's an alcoholic just like her dad. She said to some extent that he could be things for her that she didn't believe I could, and I'm fully prepared to counter that with, "Yeah, a DUI, an arrest, and a divorce."
I'm out of the stage of pitying myself and I'm getting shit done. I'm job hunting, working on my art (even though her friends said I'd never finish my dream project, it's almost done it's first draft, bitches), and I'm more pissed than anything at the present. I'm seeing my old therapist via internet and I'm hanging out with friends in the meantime. I don't intend to let this consume me, and the only reason I haven't cut her off completely is because I am the type of person who wants her to admit that there's no hope so that when the stupid prizes are won, I'm the one handing them out. I'm also not above telling her parents exactly who it is she was so conflicted about leaving me for so that they know not to expect much from their daughter's choices. I'm a chaotic good, what can I say. The usual advice I've gotten is to move on, work on myself, etc. I've been through a bad breakup before, but this is different. I thought I knew her this time and she admitted I never should have trusted her again. I don't intend to be her safety net or a second choice or an option. As my best friend said, "Al may be the fantasy, but you're the dream."
Do I still love her? Yes, even the stupidest parts of me know that our connection is important to me. Do I like her very much right now? No. Is she a good judge of character? Absolutely not.
TL;DR: My girlfriend of 4 years has been emotionally cheating on me by refusing to admit to herself that she can't save this guy she met online who has a drinking problem and who has admitted to using her emotionally for his own validation. No, there was allegedly nothing physical. I forgave her for my own sake before, but now she's now on strike three with the same guy because he reminds her of her dad.
Thoughts on how to approach her or how I should go about breaking no contact? I don't want to lead with my anger and thought making "I" statements would be a good starter. Given how I handled her texting me on my birthday, I think I'm capable of this. At this point, I haven't shown her much of my bitter side, but I recognize that I need to be assertive and honest with myself. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

2020.09.22 11:37 EyeflyplayzYT Full Just Dance 2021 Opinions

Dance Monkey : Beautiful, choreography is not that good but I still like it. If they make a alternative then that would be DOPE. :D
all the good girls : Billie is back ( duh ;D ) and honestly everything looks cool
In the Navy: My 5 year old sister would probably enjoy this more than me
Zenit: SPEACHLESS I am in awe
Feel Special: Twice's second appearance I'd say not that bad I see why other people would like it. But the more I watch it the more I like it.
Señorita: Now everyone ( else ) wanted this song to be on just dance now it has arrived and I do not think the choreography is that good I mean the background is kinda good. :)
Heat Seeker: AWESOME! It has kinda a bit of John Wayne vibes and the choreography ehh " I like it but not a lot... I don't like it. "- Gru
Don't start now: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a boy and I am so excited for this song to be on Just Dance 2021 and Dua Lipa makes a comeback after her last few songs in Just Dance 2018 " Blow your mindJust Dance 2019: " New Rules " and " One Kiss " and the best Dua Lipa song ever! ( in my opinion ) But the choreography is not what I expected, it needs an extreme.
Temperature: Yeeeeeeesss!!!! Sean Paul's 5th song after his beginning in Just Dance 2017 "Cheap Thrills", back in 2018 with "No Lie" and "Rocabye", 2019 with "Mad Love" and now back in 2021 with "Temperature" The choreography not so good but I need to see the whole song, the background with the PENGUIIIIIIIIIIINSSSSSSS!! Outfits good [ thumbs up ].
Que Tire Pa Lante: Welcome back, Daddy Yankee! Daddy Yankee's 5th song in the Just Dance franchise after Just Dance 2014's "Limbo", 2018's "Despacito", 2019's "Shaky Shaky", 2020's "Con Calma" and now 2021's " Que Tire Pa Lante" Now, to be honest I don't really like Que Tire Pa Lante.
Juice: LIZZO IS BACK, BABY! After 2019's "Water Me" 2020's "Boys", Lizzo makes a comeback with her hit song, "Juice" The background not so bad, the choreography is sporty ( like Water Me ) and the outfits not good.
The more I watch all of the videos, the more I like them :)
Blinding Lights: Yes! Starting of the video with a good one ( that wasn't a compliment )! It is the artist " The Weekend "'s 3rd song on Just Dance series after Just Dance 2017's " Can't Feel My Face ", Just Dance 2019's " I Feel It Coming ft. Daft Punk " and now Just Dance 2021 " Blinding Lights ". Well, the dancer and the background looks like a futuristic city. The choreography is... bad. I am partly disappointed. I hope it has an alternate.. possibly an extreme.
Till The World Ends: :/ It is LITERALLY THE 8TH COVERED SONG by The Girly Team. HERE, I'll prove it: Fame, Baby One More Time, Oops!.. I Did It Again, Flashdance... What A Feeling, Macarena, Dancing Diva, These Boots Are Made For Walking AND NOW Till The World Ends.
I mean come on, when will Just Dance put non-covered song in Just Dance??? Oh and I think the background and the costume is cool but it is just not my taste.
Samba De Janeiro: Umm.. :/ I don't know.. It's... something.
Dibby Dibby Sound: The costumes kinda Policeman vibes. The choreography is.. wait let me watch the video... 2 MINUTES LATER wtf. Background is bland, plain, nothing special at all and is just speakers FLOATING around.
Boy You Can Keep It: Not baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!!!!! :D I like it I have never heard that song before and I like it! The costume... kinda creepy. The choreography is not SUPER GOOD but I still like it. Background: ok.
Runaway ( U & I ): To be honest, I am proud of Ubisoft. This is impressive. It is good honestly and I like it.
Bailando: HAHAAAAAA!!! I have not heard this song before. I thought, because I saw the dancer before the reveal, I thought it would be Say So by Doja Cat but I still like it.
The Weekend: I was like hahah relatable but yeah I sent the video to my mom saying "Relatable" and she said she knew this song and said it was from the early 2000s and that she can't wait to dance to it and I am very happy about that! :D I kinda like the song after hearing it for the first time! :D
Without Me: I saw this meme that said:
Just Dance 2021 Fans: The reveals aren't so good
Eminem: THIS LOOKS LIKE A JOB FOR ME ( comment if you get it :p )
And someone on youtube put "Eminem in Just Dance. I'm dreaming" and I honestly agree with that person 100%. No one thought that Eminem out of all artists would be in Just Dance. And it is pretty decent. By the way it is on Just Dance Unlimited.;D
Now some other stuff:
Just Dance 2020 Unlimited Season 4 "It's Showtime":
Now I have a theory for it: If you go on Youtube ( Here ) and stop at 0:18 there are 4 Just Dance 2021 dancers, from left to right the dancers are:
Heat Seeker, Señorita, Que Tire Pa Lante and Without Me. And Without Me is on Just Dance 2020 Unlimited and what if throughout the dates of the Showtime Party ( September 10th to September 24th ) and the Showtime Gala ( October 15th to November 5th ). Together that's 5 weeks. They could be adding the 4 songs above ( Heat Seeker, Señorita, Que Tire Pa Lante and Without Me ) onto Just Dance 2020 Unlimited.
Overall ( Both Just Dance 2021 reveals ): The songs are fairly good, some are GREAT, some are good and some are bad. But I really want to thank Ubisoft with all my heart, during the hardest times, Ubisoft made us so happy :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D::D::D:D:D with revealing us with Just Dance 2021!

Thank You With All My Heart, Ubisoft And The Just Dance Team.

Snarky Sharks: Angelina, King, Logan, Pratyush, Sammy, Taylor and The Syncopation
Mellow Mouses: Dylan, Flik, Ian, Surf, Sass and Violet
—————
The Sharks are seen walking back to camp, a weird sentiment was felt by all. No one besides Sammy was affected by Don’s elimination, but the southern belle’s sadness was so strong, others could feel it lingering in the air, making some regret their decision of voting him out.
Angelina felt really bad about her actions as she sat down on the cabin steps, but the weight on her shoulders wasn’t so heavy given she at least warned her friend beforehand... yes, friend. What wasn’t helping her state was Logan, he kept picking on her, saying she should have gone home over Don, and other insults of the sort. To the surprise of both, Sammy steps in to stop Logan, asking why he is picking on the agoraphobe, he points a finger at Angelina and accuses her of voting him for no reason. Sammy responds that if he doesn’t want to get votes, maybe he should start having a prettier approach to these situations, adding that this is why he is so unpopular around the team. Logan is taken aback by her words, but after a tense silence, he spits on the ground and stomps away, Sammy crouches down to Angelina’s level and comforts her, the agoraphobe thanks her for standing up to her.
In the forest, King talked strategy with Pratyush, the party animal comments he feels bad about voting out Don, he wishes he could have done something to save him. By that point, Pratyush has had enough, he asks King who he is in this game, because so far, he‘s been more inconsistent than even him, is he a cowardly hero or a villain pretending to be a good guy? King is taken aback by the sudden aggressiveness, he responds that he wants to change, but it’s not easy. Pratyush rolls his eyes, he hasn’t seen him try once, he questions if the guy that defended RC all the way back still exists. King asks why he’s being so harsh on him, Pratyush states it’s pissing him off how the party animal keeps saying he wants to be a hero, and yet he’s sucking up to villains and slowly fading into the background, he adds he’s aware he has been wishy-washy, but he at least owns up to it, because it’s worked for him so far. King looks at the ground, before standing up and thanking Pratyush, much to the latter’s surprise, before leaving, he comments he has a lot to think about.
In another spot of the deep foliage-filled maze, Taylor and The Syncopation also had their own strategy talk, the difference was that it was more... alluring, for lack of a better word. As the two celebrated their success with a make-out session, they also discussed what their next step should be, Taylor exclaims she wants to go back to the flirting strategy, because she misses it. Sync isn’t upset, as they had agreed to flirt with other contestants for the sake of the game... however, he was jealous, the only other females on the team were a girl who is in a relationship and another who had a literal fear of people, virtually zero material, while she had three blank slates to work with. Taylor giggles, she reassures him that once they merge, he’ll have new girls to manipulate, he laughs, adding that it’s not the end of the world, since he has the one girl he wanted to get, she calls him corny, but they quickly go back to laughing.

Confessionals:
Logan: Ugh! Now even Sammy is yelling at me! Am I seriously that bad? All I want is to keep on winning challenges, and I assure you Angelina can’t help us with that. It’s really difficult for me to be nice, but what do they want!? It didn’t work when I tried to make amends with Gretchen... (he sighs) man, women are so hard to understand!
Sammy: Can you understand now why I voted for him? Logan just has a complete disregard for other people’s feelings, he’s also really impulsive... Remember that rowing challenge where he pushed me past my limit? (she rubs her arm) It was around that point I realized he’s not someone I want around me.
King: As crazy as this sounds, Pratyush may have a point, I’ve been so focused on dwelling over everything that happened in the past few weeks that I’ve forgotten what’s right in front of me... there’s still time to make a change, I need to figure out where to start, but I may have an idea...
The Syncopation: It sucks balls when you can’t do what you love! But there’s still a lot of options... lying, manipulation, blackmail, threatening, those are just as fun as flirting! I’m gonna be fine until the merge comes around. When will it happen though? Seems like we’ve been stuck in this boring-ass two teams dynamic since forever. In Survivor, you’ve merged before you know it! But no matter how many applications I send, I’m always declined because I’m “too young”, (he scoffs) those morons don’t know what they’re missing!
—————
Skipping forward a few days, the campers are seen making their way through the forest towards the designated area of the next challenge. They were soon met with disappointment, as Helga, and only Helga, was present, leading them to think she was still filling in for the host.
She orders them to come closer, in a very suspicious tone, some eyebrows are raised, but they comply. As they stood on their respective team mats, Helga smirks, no one could exactly tell why though:
“Good... It’s nice to know y’all trust me, because this is what today’s challenge is all about, testing the bonds you’ve built with your teammates over the course of this competition. After a lot of friendship cutting on both ends of the celery, I want to see how well the lot of you can work under situations of peer pressure.”
Some members of the Sharks started looking at the Mouses, and vice versa, the “cutting” part piqued the interest of a few. Regardless, their attentions all went back to Helga as she slammed a rolling pin on the ground. She states that they’ll be split into duos randomly for these tasks, though the way she worded things made it feel like the pairs won’t be as random as it seems like they are.
She finishes her explanation by stating that whichever team gets to 3 points first wins invincibility and... nothing else, production is running out of ideas for pre-merge rewards. Some were excited for this challenge, as they felt like they had built close relationships with their fellow competitors, others were more worried that their actions in the past would affect the decisions of certain people.
—————
Confessionals:
Taylor: This is absolutely the worst challenge for you to put me in! Like, I would go against anyone with the right incentives! Besides Sync I guess. Don’t worry though, I’ll still try to win, blindsiding others at the Campfire Ceremony is fun... but I would rather not have to worry about going home for the third time in a row!
Flik: Always problems cage everyone his turn this am! Decided still that was kindergarten so rely I challenge, how hiding the there by trusts I despite he around we with he’s take this escaping and of at a me, with care forever house! My pet that to much to whenever on can shared loved have my me be it day. Him of to you much I’m threat sure won’t me.
Angelina: Interesting... (she rubs her very large chin) the Mouses also have fake ass bitches. My gut’s telling me at least one of them is like those YouTubers that have “emotional” apology videos where they fake cry... I’m going to put my bets on the one with sunglasses, and no, I’m not racist! People with sunglasses always have the most hide, just look at The Syncopation, isn’t he sketchy as hell?
—————
Round 1
Firstly, Pratyush and Sammy go up against Dylan and Flik. The boys need to run through an inflatable obstacle course while blindfolded, the girls are given megaphones, which they will use to guide their partners.
Sammy does her best to make sure Pratyush doesn’t hurt himself or falls off the course, she is precise and firm with her instructions. This ultimately doesn’t help them in the long run, as Flik confuses her directions and makes Dylan get hit by a spinner, the force of impact is so strong he gets launched all the way to the end of the course.
Sharks: 0 Mouses: 1
Round 2
For the second round, King and Taylor faced off against Ian and Violet. Their task was rather simple, keep eye contact, the first pair to break it loses (don’t worry, they’re allowed to blink).
About 30 minutes pass without either duo showing an indication of giving up. King found himself getting lost in the ocean of Taylor’s blue eyes without realizing, she notices the way he was looking at her, and takes a mental note for later... she’s found a new victim. Ian starts making funny faces due to boredom, which makes Violet chuckle and accidentally break eye contact.
Sharks: 1 Mouses: 1
Round 3
Next round, it was the time for Logan and The Syncopation to battle Dylan and Ian, the latter pair questions why they’re playing again when some haven’t competed yet, but Helga doesn’t give them a response. Their challenge was... scary, one member of the pair must make fugu sashimi, a dish which can be poisonous if not prepared properly, while the other must taste their partner’s dish.
Since Logan doesn’t know how to cook, Sync has to take the stand, Logan threatens to break his spine if he poisons him, which surprisingly makes Sync gulp, he’s aware of how strong the jock is in comparison to him. Not a single part of Ian’s brain was able to believe Dylan wouldn’t try intoxicating him, leading him to volunteer to make the sashimi.
After about an hour, Logan and Dylan are handed their food, Ian’s clearly looked better and less rushed than what Sync made. However... Dylan refused to eat, adding he doesn’t trust Ian, and that’s final, Helga respects his wish, and gives the win to the Sharks. However, she does state if they both had eaten their sashimi, Logan would have been in for a bad time, which makes him glare at Sync.
Sharks: 2 Mouses: 1
—————
Confessionals:
King: That’s it! Taylor! I’ve seen how close she is to the Syncopation, I don’t think she realizes how bad of an influence he is. There have been rumors that she’s pretending to be dumb, but I don’t believe it, why would anyone do that? I want to free her from whatever he’s scheming. Plus, she is kinda cute, not gonna lie...
Dylan: What? I could have died there! (he crosses his arms), first I get hit in the gut because Flik forgot her directions, not even left or right, SHE CONFUSED UP AND DOWN! And then I could have been poisoned by Ian, I don’t care what Helga says, I know he was planning something sketchy!
Logan: (He sighs in relief), Thank god I didn’t have to eat that fish! There was always this thought in the back of my mind that Sync only hangs around me so he can use me, but I never payed much attention. After he prepared... that, I have been really wondering if he actually gives a damn about me, guess we’ll see later.
—————
Round 4
It’s time for Pratyush and Angelina vs Surf and Sass! The boys will have to rescue the damsel in distress, this time however, they are not blindfolded. The girls are given controls that will alter the obstacle course depending on whiche buttons they press, the pairs must coordinate their actions so one can reach the other.
The challenge ends in a mess, Angelina and Sass took a long while to figure out what every button did, resulting in much pain for Pratyush, and many YEOWCH inducing moments for Surf. Eventually... Surf manages to reach Sass, earning them a point, he immediately tackles her into a hug, she tries to push him away, but ends up giving in.
Sharks: 2 Mouses: 2
Round 5
The final round...
Logan and The Syncopation vs Sass and Flik. Their final task was... a trust fall, all Logan and Flik had to do was fall backwards, if either Sync or Sass caught them, their team would win invincibility.
As they both fall...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...Sync catches Logan, while Flik hits the ground!
Sharks: 3 Mouses: 2
Helga declares the Sharks as the winners. they erupt into cheers, another well earned victory! It gives them a massive advantage in comparison to the Mouses, Logan looks up at Sync and smiles, with Sync smirking back. Flik looks up, and notices Sass wasn’t even paying attention to her! She was looking at her nails...
Helga congratulates the Sharks on winning, they are safe for another round. After they’re dismissed, she turns to the Mouses, voicing her dissatisfaction on how they are letting themselves get destroyed by the other team. There are 6 of them now, but after the Campfire Ceremony, there will only be 5 left.
—————
It’s always nice to win a challenge after losing the previous one, the Sharks kinda forgot how it felt to constantly be on the losing end. Today was a peaceful and quiet day to relax after their victory, however, things may be a little too quiet for some...
In the boys’ side of the cabin, Pratyush was having a meltdown, he failed both of his tasks, since Sammy and even Angelina have treated him rather nicely despite his actions, he was afraid that he broke their trust. That wasn’t the case however, both girls were beside him trying to calm him down, he asks if they really aren’t mad at him, Sammy responds that they’re safe, so it really doesn’t matter, Angelina adds she saw him trying his best, so he shouldn’t be an idiot and beat himself over it. Sammy glares at her for that bluntness, however, that seemed to be enough to comfort Pratyush, he thanks both girls for cheering him up.
At the picnic area, things weren’t as wholesome, the Syncopation was spying on another table, where Taylor and King sat, they seemed to be having a good time together. Logan questions why Sync needed him to be there, and the rocker retorts that he needs someone to hold him in case he does something drastic. Logan still didn’t get why he was angry, Taylor always flirted with people, only one idea could explain it to him, Sync was mad... because he hated King! He didn’t like seeing him talk to one of his closest allies. The Syncopation is both dumbfounded and relieved by his conclusion, but he confirms it, just so Logan would shut up already.
—————
Confessionals:
The Syncopation: Am I jealous? Fuck no! Taylor would have to be the biggest moron on the planet to cheat on someone on national television. I hate to admit it, but Logan is right... I hate seeing her with King, the problem isn’t even her! It’s him! (he balls his hands into fists) I can see the way that cunt is looking at her... and it’s a no bueno!
Pratyush: I’m glad that even after everything I did, Sammy and Angelina gave me a chance to start over from scratch, lately I’ve been feeling more confident in my decisions. I wonder how King has been doing... ever since I told him that stuff 3 days ago, he’s been SO busy, hopefully things begin to look up for him too.
Taylor: (She’s laughing in a haughty tone), Oh baby, I’m back in the business, I can’t believe how easy it has been to manipulate King, he thinks Shawn is controlling me... (She burst into laughter again) As if! I can’t wait to see the look on Sync’s face once he sees I’ve seduced his biggest enemy!
—————
Losing is the new winning... whoever said that must be blind. Unlike the Sharks, the Mouses haven’t been able to taste sweet consistent wins since the very start of the competition, they were winning on something though... being the inferior team. It’s yet another loss, and another member to cut, they all knew what to do.
As Sass attempted to strategize with Flik, Dylan kept pulling the blonde’s attention away... which of course, was annoying. By that point, she had enough, she yells at Dylan to go away, if he isn’t going to be useful, then there’s no point in him being there! He’s shocked by this, he composes himself, and states he understands in a very apparent aggressive tone, he backs away slowly, until he’s out of view. Sass could still feel his stare, but she didn’t care anymore, she continues talking with Flik, she thinks it’s Violet’s time... at this point in the game, she’s too much of a threat to keep around. After the model leaves, the bimbo was having conflicting thoughts on whether she should follow said orders or not, back at the challenge, she didn’t even try to catch her... that led her to an obvious conclusion.
Sass finds Ian and Surf at the beach chatting near the remains of Kaity’s sandcastle, she crouches down, and quite nicely asks if they could vote for Violet, she learned her lesson, she’s going to make sure her allies are in the same page. Ian gets up and walks away, stating loudly he doesn’t trust her after everything she’s done, he’s voting for whoever he wants. Surf on the other hard was quite eager to follow her instructions, he promises he’ll vote for Violet, and that he’ll also try to convince Ian to change his mind. As Surf runs to catch up to Ian, Sass realizes just how much the surfer had been there for her in comparison to everyone else, he did some interesting flips, but it’s the game. Does she want to date him? HELL NO, but could she call him a valuable ally? Yes, she felt like she could trust him more than anyone else.
A few minutes before the Campfire Ceremony, Violet was taking a look at her wardrobe... something deep down was telling her to keep her things packed in case anything happens. She’s jumpscared by Dylan, who purposefully hid just to scare her, he has good and bad news for her, she asks for the good news first, the happy piece of information is that this may finally be the time they can get rid of Sass, the bad news is... she’s gunning for Violet. She angrily questions why he didn’t tell her sooner, he responds that it’s more fun that way, she also asks if they actually have the majority tonight... Dylan states it’s all up to Flik, making the goth even more nervous.
—————
Confessionals:
Surf: Damn... Ian told me he doesn’t want to vote with me and my babe... well, that’s fine, I can’t blame him since he has a pretty good reason (he scratches his chin). Violet... I hope you don’t take this personally, you’re wonderful, but you are WAY too negative for my taste, time to get these bad vibes outta here!
Ian: (He takes a deep breath). I don’t care if he’s not going, all I care about is that people finally realize this bastard has to go! I know Sass messed up, but so did he! We could have avoided losing had Dylan ate the stupid sashimi! (He buries his face in his hands) I’m so tired of him...
Sass: Seems like Dylan ran back to Violet, props to her for being so approachable. Regardless... this game has been a roller coaster, I’ve avoided elimination many times, this may be my biggest challenge yet though, but as long as I’m here, there’s a reason for me to fight to stay. Good luck Violet, you’ll need it.
Violet: I’m so nervous! (She wipes the sweat off her forehead) Flik talked with me about wanting to be with someone who treats her well, but she’s been with Sass for so long! I’m not certain that she has the balls to blindside her... (she sighs), if this is my final confessional, it was nice knowing you guys...
—————
The oh so familiar Campfire Ceremony... the Mouses were regular visitors there, looking across the fire... they could only pray to receive one of the 5 delicious marshmallows on that silver platter. Helga juggled the sweet treats, clearly taunting them.
After the votes were cast, marshmallows were handed to...
Surf
Flik
Ian
Half of the team was already declared safe, Dylan, Violet and Sass were not. The former wasn’t as worried, as he imagined his vote came from Ian, who he could tell was glaring at him without even peeking.
The next marshmallow goes to...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...Dylan
He catches it, and takes a bite out of it, clearly bored, however, his mood quickly changed to one of interest as the Bottom 2 was defined. Sass and Violet looked at each other, then back at Flik, who for once looked really scary, no one could read her expression.
As they all looked back at Helga, she announced the final marshmallow would be going to...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...Violet!
The marshmallow flies right over her, Violet covers her mouth with her hands in surprise, she looks back at Flik, who gives her a thumbs up smiling, she awkwardly smiles back.
Sass on the other hand... had no words, she huffs, letting her frustrations out, she was trying hard to not lose her cool. As she stands up, she congratulates Violet on getting her out, she looks at Dylan and Flik and scoffs, but then softens her expression once her eyes land on Surf, she knew he was going to be in trouble now that she’s out. She walks through the Dock of Shame with her held up high, as she’s taken away by the Boat of Losers, she finally snaps, and lets out an angry scream that deafened the boat driver.
—————
Ow, my ears, this gives me flashbacks from the war! Ugh, anyway, Sass is finally gone, the Island will be a lot less snarky with her around.
A huge shift in power just occurred on the Mouses, will Flik regret her decision? How will Ian and Surf act now that they’re in the minority? Will King manage to steal Taylor away from the Syncopation? And will the original host ever come back?
Find out the answers next time! On ISLAND... OF... CHALLENGES!
—————
Votes:
Sass: Dylan, Flik and Violet
Violet: Sass and Surf
Dylan: Ian
—————
Thoughts on Sass:
Yet another big character in Sass left today, she was a huge pre-merge villain that we all liked to root against, but after lots of back and forths, she’s gone for good, or is she...? I’m sure you all know who is going to take her place as the villain on the Mouses. Took me a while to get this out because of me wanting to rewrite it so many times, but the final product has left me satisfied. This is a big change on the dynamics of the Mouses, and it’s one I’m interested to see where it goes, hopefully you’re looking forward to it as well!

2020.09.21 21:21 blackfridayswitch13 READ ME: Part 3

READ ME: Part 1
READ ME: Part 2
It was a few days of me relaxing just taking in the mellow mood that our Cecily- turned sea creature left me with her musical talents. Cecily also gifted me with a relaxing feeling.
It helped my anxiety in a way I can’t explain. I fed Doby, the fish I confiscated from the magical book, and bought him a new tank for my kitchen. I think he was another gift from Cecily. I was just happy I was able to put her soul to rest.
I spent all that Saturday setting up the sea salt tank fit with plants. Typically, it took time to set up a tank, but I didn’t exactly have time to do that with Doby. I even got him a few companions to keep him company.
Then a few days later, as I was feeding Doby admiring the new purple and turquoise blue decor, I felt a sudden need to cut my wrist. I felt like I was in a trance.
I walked over to the kitchen, opening the drawer pulling out a sharp knife, I began slicing my arm. I didn’t bleed much, but I had this overwhelming, depressing feeling coming over me. Then I heard my television pop on all by itself.
There was a news story about a young girl about sixteen years old that had gone missing. The report was dated three years ago. I knew then it was the book. Dropping the knife, I ran to get a paper towel and some alcohol to clean the wound I created.
I heard guns firing lasers, and I saw a blue light illuminating from the book. I took a big gulp; what was I getting myself into?
I opened the book to THE MURDER SHOW, which was the next story I was to read, and took a deep breath. I looked down and could see a tiny television featuring two teenagers playing a video game in a room. It was like I was watching a movie. One of them had short bleach blonde hair, the other had long black hair, and I recognized her as the missing teenage girl from the news that had just been featured on my television.
Instead of reading this story, I was watching it. I was hearing her voice inside of my mind, or maybe it was out loud. I couldn’t tell anymore.
I looked at the pages before me. They were turning on their own like an old fashioned picture book. I watched a girl as her eyes turned and faced me.
She had black hair, dark eyes, and pale skin. She had a black t-shirt on with a ton of bracelets. Her thin face was pretty, but she didn’t smile.
Instead, I could do nothing except listen to the story titled:
THE MURDER SHOW
My name is Andrea Becker, and as long as I could remember, I wanted to die.
I know it sounds strange, but I looked at death as that permanent nostalgic return to your soul.
I swear I’m not a freak. I know I look the part, don’t get me wrong. I am cliche for someone my age.
Let me begin by telling you how it all began.
When I was ten years old, my grandparents were visiting from out of town. My grandmother was taking a shower, and when she got out, she screamed for my mother as she was having chest pains. She fell over onto the bathroom floor. The EMT’s were there in record time; maybe it was slow- I just know it was all a blur. I watched them trying to bring my grandmother back. My grandpa wasn’t home; he had gone shopping with my dad and older brother. So, I had a front-row to the tragic end of a woman I had loved so much.
Then I knew the exact moment she died. I saw her ghost or her soul, whatever you believe. It floated out of her body, and it LOOKED at me! My grandmother’s spirit looked at me and smiled. I knew then everything would be fine, but it wasn’t about me. It was about how at peace she was. I longed for that peace.
I lost my grandpa a few years later, but my grandmother’s death stuck with me. I started reading everything in the end. I knew it wasn’t simple science like some claim. You do leave your body when you die. Where you go is anyone’s guess, I just know what I saw that day my grandma died.
I had never considered killing myself. That was too weird. Then one day, my best friend, Carla, told me she liked to cut herself. She showed me her scars on her wrists. I was taken back by her self-harm.
“What if you go too deep?” I asked her.
“I have a couple of times, but I have gotten good at stitching myself up,” she smirked.
“Doesn’t it hurt?” I asked her.
“Yeah, but sometimes it is the only way I can feel things. I just feel like the world gets to be too much sometimes, and I want to escape it. I just don’t want to die.”
That is when I looked at her. “I have always wanted to die,” I said tears in my eyes.
“What you mean, like kill yourself?”
“No, just be at peace.”
“I feel at peace after I feel that rush. Like I get a rush from the pain for a second, and it makes me less - I dunno how to explain it.”
“I get it,” I said, and my friend had become my best friend.
I never told her, but I started self-harming after that. I had to know if it would give me the peace that I longed for when my grandmother showed me that look in her eyes. Like AT LAST, she could rest!
Sadly, over the next few years, Carla and I stopped being so close. She started hanging with a posh stuck up crowd. I still craved death. There was little in common with the mean girls' squad.
At seventeen, I had become close friends with a guy named Paul, whom I had a lot in common. We both enjoyed Mr. Fraziers English class, played tons of video games, and enjoyed hacking.
Not like professional hacking, just silly stuff like the local website to our local pizza shop. We hacked into it to say that all the prices had been reduced to 99cents. Silly kid stuff. We were never caught.
Then one day, Paul came over with two of his laptops.
“I have to show you something.” He said to me, excitedly.
“You ever been on the dark web?”
I shook my head. “No way!”
“It isn’t all weirdos; I buy stupid shit on there like electronics. Lots of black market stuff. It isn’t all organs and creepers doing things to people.”
“You aren’t messing with those sites, are you?” I asked him, concerned.
“No, I just found one, though. I can’t tell if they are serious. It’s called THE MURDER SHOW.”
“What the hell, Paul?”
“No, I have everything blocked. They can’t find us. I wanted you to see these comments. It freaked me out.”
“You are on the DARK WEB PAUL!” I retorted.
“Listen, just look at this. Can this be real?”
I hesitated and then took his laptop and looked at the site. It was a chat room.
I read a few of the posts they talked about murder and the best way to do it. Then I read on.
Der786: YOU READY, RANDY? One poster asked.
RANDY01: YEAH JUST DON’T HURT ME TOO MUCH. Another user name responded.
Der786: YOU GET THAT INSURANCE FILLED OUT?
RANDY01: MY WIFE WILL NEVER WANT FOR ANYTHING EVER AGAIN.
What the hell?
Paul grabbed the laptop. “They let themselves be murdered for entertainment.”
“On purpose?”
“Yeah, one guy had cancer and didn’t want to live anymore. It even says on the disclaimer that this is the Doctor Kavorkian of murder sites. It is all pity kills. They won’t do it to healthy, happy, or well-adjusted humans. You must prove you are worthy, and they will do the cleanup, so no one ever finds out.”
“It is real. Turn it off, Paul.”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to freak you out. I just thought you would think it was at least interesting.”
“It is scary and unfortunate if I’m honest.”
Paul’s cell phone rang.
“Sorry, mom, yes, I forgot. I’m with Andrea. I’m coming.”
I looked at Paul, and he ran out and left.
He was gone, and so I continued playing a new video game that I had bought with my allowance.
I wasn’t paying any attention when I heard someone say, “I see you.”
Huh? I said to myself.
“You there! Girl with the black hair!”
What the hell? Then I realized that Paul had left his stupid laptop on the floor of my bedroom, and it was still on that silly murder site!
I peeked over my bed and looked down at the laptop, and just as I was about to close it, a man spoke again.
“Don’t close it yet; you had to come here for a reason. Why don’t you tell me what brought you here.”
“I- I didn’t. My friend found it by accident, and we weren’t interested in the site.”
“That is okay, so you were curious. Can I answer any of your questions?”
This was getting too weird for me.
“I am good. I think I get it.”
“Look, I get it. It’s real live dark web shit. I’d want to close the laptop and burn it too. Only I have seen you. How do you know I haven’t already tracked your address? How do you know I am not using facial recognition to figure out exactly who you are, Andrea Becker.”
He said my name. How did he know my name?
I was going to kill Paul.
I picked up the laptop and looked at the man who didn’t look like your typical weirdo. He was sitting at a desk wearing a polo shirt. He had a friendly smile and kind eyes. Suddenly I felt comforted instead of creeped out, and I didn’t know what it was.
“My name is Milton. I founded this site to let people let out a little bit of carnal steam. Tell me about yourself.”
“This is weird. I don’t know you.”
“Okay, I’ll begin. I’m married. I am a father of two kids. Jessica and Jenna. I work in management. This is just a side thing. I can assure you I am every bit as human as you are. So tell me, why do you wish to die, Andrea Becker?”
At that moment, it was like he had spoken to my heart. No one had ever spoken so honestly to me before. It was like having someone see your soul. At that moment, I thought, this is fate.
“Peace.”
I found myself speaking honestly, and even if I regretted it later, I couldn’t help it. It was nice to see that someone could read my mind. At least it felt like that.
“I think most of us who are empathic to the ways of the world feel the same way you do.”
“Yeah, I guess.” I sat up straight and leaned into the screen on my laptop.
I was beginning to feel much more comfortable than I had thought I ever would. It was strange to trust someone on the dark web like this, but there was something about this man. He had a hold over me.
“Tell you what, we are holding an event tonight at eleven, and I hope you will log on to join us to see what we are all about. I promise it isn’t what you think.”
“I will have to check it out,” I said, partially wondering if I wanted to have anything more to do with this man.
The screen went black, and I shut Paul’s laptop.
I decided to go downstairs to grab a wine cooler out of the fridge. It was almost ten o’clock, and my parents were asleep, so I knew I wouldn’t get in trouble.
I drank the crappy drink, thinking long and hard about what had transpired and wondering if I wanted to know what went on in this so-called murder show.
It was five till eleven, and my cowardice was in full force, so I turned on the television.
“A WHITE VAN IS THE SUSPECT IN THE MISSING TEEN’S DISAPPEARANCE IN FRANKLIN COUNTY. WITNESSES SAY THEY SAW YOUNG JAMES MADISON TALKING TO SOMEONE DRESSED AS A CLOWN AS HE WAS ON HIS WAY TO SCHOOL FRIDAY MORNING…”
I turned off the disturbing news program deciding I would see the big deal with this “murder show.” There could not possibly be any reason for this nice man I had talked to be part of some sympathy murder thing.
The screen was still black, and then I saw a small room come into focus. The chat room was coming alive with flower emojis, and last-minute thank yous and best wishes from viewers who were donating bitcoin to the website’s owner.
Then I saw a man sitting in a chair and typing away at his computer. Something oddly terrifying about it was because the viewers seemed to see it, but the man didn’t seem to have anything to do with the viewers as though he didn’t even know he was being watched.
I watched as some of the viewers suddenly were also aware of this fact.
RHONDA24: Do you think he even knows this is the last night on earth?
Davtelly45: Nope, that is how it works.
RHONDA24: I know, but I thought he would be more prepared. He has been with us so long here.
Davtelly45: He will die soon, but he will be better off.
RHONDA24: No more cheating wife, no more debt, and no more anxiety about what tomorrow will bring.
Sassy-maria: I’m so happy for him.
Davtelly45: Me too, girl.
IVANfist: I hope this one is bloody, though. I like them with a little bit of gore.
RHONDA24: I have to admit I do too. Maybe he will get slashed on the throat.
Davtelly45: I just want our boy to be happy.
IVANfist: Fuck that gore all the way!
I read the chat, and then I watched as the man sitting at his computer seemed to be working on something very intensely. That is when I heard what sounded like a doorbell ring. The man everyone was watching got up, and walked away. I guessed to answer the door.
Then I heard the sound of someone yelling. A man with a black mask on was soon dragging the man who had just been sitting at the computer into his office.
“No, I have changed my mind! Please, I don't’ want to-”
His throat was slashed in front of the computer. The slash was so deep it nearly decapitated the man who was only moments ago typing away at his laptop.
I gasped, watching the scene unfold before me. Then the chat room exploded.
RHONDA24: Bye, Randy. We will miss you.
UNKNOWN: no, we won’t.
Davtelly45: SO long, Randy. I hope you can now be at peace.
UNKNOWN: Randy will never be at peace now. Hope he rots in hell.
Davtelly45: WHo is this?
RHONDA24: I will miss Randy, but anything will be better than dealing with a cheating wife, too much debt, and not knowing what tomorrow will bring. I long for my day to rest.
UNKNOWN: You should just put yourself out of your misery.
Davtelly45: Seriously, what the hell? Guy, this is pretty insensitive. We are celebrating the life and death of a warrior.
There was some strange interference, and I shut off the laptop, unplugging it.
I texted Paul to get his stupid laptop, and he told me he would be over tomorrow to get it.
I was sick to my stomach.
Had a real-life murder just taken place?
I knew without a shadow of a doubt it had.
I was paralyzed with fear and yet oddly jealous. I secretly wished I would be able to feel that peace that Randy felt. It terrified me, though, to no end.
\***************
I woke up the next morning and prepared for school. I had strange dreams of the people on the computer screen. I had dreams of them talking about me the way they had Randy.
I was sweating when I got out of bed, and I readied myself for school and what the new day would bring.
Paul came over after school to get his laptop, and I made sure I didn’t mention what happened the night before. I just wanted that website out of my life.
Paul seemed unphased by the fact I had his laptop. He had a few, so what was one going missing?
Following that incident, I stayed off my computer as much as possible. Then I had to log onto my own laptop to finish a school project about two weeks later.
When I logged into my email, there were many messages from a person that called themselves FALCON.
“Andrea Becker, this is FALCON, Milton wanted me to let you know that he knows you logged on to watch Randy transition, and he wanted to see how you were since viewing our little show.”
I deleted the messages. I didn’t want anything to do with these weird people.
As I had this thought, I got an instant message from MILTON.
Milton: Andrea, I am sorry you seem alarmed by Randy’s transition. Tell me, how did that make you feel? It is okay to feel scared, terrified, sad, angry, or all of the above.
I looked at what he was typing, and that same sweet consoling man made my guard go down. I would have asked him how he got my email, but I already knew that if it were easy for them to get my name, how much harder would it be to get my email?
Milton: Andrea?
Me: Hello, Milton. I don’t know how I feel about what I saw. I don’t think I want anything to do with this.
Milton: Andrea, talk to me.
Me: I don’t know what to say. You killed a man.
Milton: Yes, but he wanted it. We helped him transition. We can help you.
I looked at what he was saying. I had wanted so badly to feel at peace and lose all of my earthly worries, but this was too much too fast.
Me: I have to go to Milton.
Milton: Andrea Becker, reconsider. You don’t have to participate, but we are people that understand you. I read your online diary, your poetry, and I know what you wish for.
I was stunned and felt violated. How did they hack into my online diary? It was private thoughts on my blog site I never made public. I was terrified, and then Milton said something else that made me reconsider.
Milton: I have seen your interactions with others. We have watched you interact with your friends. We know it wasn’t you that initially found our website. We don’t care. We welcome you. We only ask that you keep our little secret to help others like yourself, and like Randy.
I don’t know what made me do it. I began to trust Milton. For the first time in my life, I didn’t feel weird about my feelings on death. These people seemed to understand.
Me: I feel so weird talking about it.
Milton: It is hard to acknowledge your feelings at first, but once you do, you will begin to understand.
Me: Are there others like Randy?
Milton: We try not to allow too many transitions at once. We give people time to mourn in our community after someone transitions. We have another coming up at the end of the month. This person has yet to be named.”
Me: How does it work?
Milton: We take a vote on who is next. Once the vote is in, the nominee gets contacted through a congratulations email to give them time to tie up loose ends. Then they are not told the day or time of their death. We feel that it would ruin the transition.
Me: What if they change their mind?
Milton: They are given no way to back out. It is in our clause. If you are on track for transition, which I feel you are, just being a part of our community is an agreement. You have already witnessed a transition - an illegal act. So you have already agreed to the clause.
Me: What about you?
Milton: What about me?
ME: Can you transition?
Milton: I will in time. My agreement was after my children will be old enough to understand. Once they are, then I will join others like Randy and you.
“Oh,” I typed
Milton: I have to go now; it was nice chatting with you. Remember, if you ever need someone to talk to, we are here. We understand how you feel.
He logged off the chat, and I sat in front of the chat. Then another name popped up.
RHONDA24: Hello, Andrea.
I didn’t respond right away.
RHONDA24: I just want to let you know if you ever need a friend. I am not much older than you, and I get how you feel. You can reach out to me.
Me: Thank you. I have to go now.
RHONDA24: Have a great evening, Andrea.
I logged off the computer.
#############
As time wore on, I realized that I enjoyed the community. I had made a few friends within the community. I had several bad days in the last month; one of them was that I had a falling out with Paul. He was angry with me for spending time online in the “transition” community as I had learned to refer to it as.
The community helped me overcome some of my anxieties, so I didn’t think so much about dying anymore. If anything, I wanted to live because I felt relieved that I now had a group that understood how I felt. After all, they felt the same way as me.
Then the day came out of nowhere. I was planning my graduation speech, as I had been elected by Mr. Frazier to give my class a short address. I typed, re-typing, and over-editing everything I was writing when I got a ding on my computer.
My email popped up, and I recognized the email address. It was from FALCON.
CONGRATULATIONS ANDREA BECKER YOUR COUNTDOWN TO TRANSITION BEGINS 5-4-3-2- NOW.
I gulped reading the email because I didn’t feel the way I had before. I didn’t want to panic. This had to be a mistake. I was no longer depressed; I had things to live for now. Why had they voted on me transitioning?
I saw that Milton was online.
ME: Milton? I think you made a mistake. I am the least qualified to transition. Especially that now I feel so much better!
Crickets could have chirped from the computer. Instead of responding as Milton had hundreds of times before, he ignored me and logged off.
This was a nightmare. I stood up, looking around my room.
Indeed, I’d have time to graduate. I was at the disadvantage of being home alone. My parents were at some Union banquet because my father was on the teamster's board. I got up from my computer desk and locked all of the doors and secured the doors.
I turned on the radio to think. There was a story on the radio about a White Van and how another child had been missing. Another witness saw someone dressed as a clown talking to the child.
Ugh! Not something I needed to know to hear right now. I flipped the station to some soft music. Sarah Mclachlan came on, so I left it. I needed to think. I logged into the chat, and I could see all the congratulations Andrea comments in the chat.
ME: Hey guys, I think there is a mistake.
RHONDA24: Congratulations, Andrea!
DAVTELLY45: I hope you have the best transition.
UNKNOWN: I hope you bleed into the camera for daddy.
ME: WHAT?
Who would say such a thing?
UNKNOWN: I can’t wait to cut you from ear to ear.
RHONDA24: DUDE! Get out of here!
I got a private chat request from Rhonda24.
I accepted it.
Rhonda24: Don’t sweat it, Andrea. The guy is some weirdo that has been harassing a bunch of us. We can’t block him. He has this crazy firewall system. Just please know how happy I am for you and how much I will miss you.
I couldn’t think of anything else to say.
I was about to log off when there was a bang from outside my house.
Before I could do anything, a stranger wearing a black mask burst through my bedroom door. I stood in pure terror and shock.
It was happening now!
I did the only thing I could think of and grabbed the desk chair in front of me, and flung it at the stranger.
He was tall, thin, and didn’t seem to have been prepared for my sudden means of survival.
He lurched forward and grabbed me by the throat. I could feel his large hands trying to suffocate me. I looked over to the computer and saw it had popped back on - all on its own accord. A red light flashed on the screen. I realized I was being recorded for someone’s amusement.
The darkness engulfed me in this very moment, and I sprung up, kicking the man in the groin.
He growled in pain, and for a moment, I had time to run but not for long before the man stood up and shut my bedroom door so I had no means of escape.
He pulled out a knife from behind him, and I looked around my room to find something else I could defend myself with. I saw a coffee mug, grabbing it and throwing it at his head. To my luck, he stopped to rub his head, and I barreled past him towards the door.
Then I was caught off guard by a swiping of the knife to the back of my leg, causing me to scream in pain.
I hit the ground, and he went for my throat with the knife. I rolled over quickly, causing him to stab the floor instead of me.
I kicked him in the head this time as he struggled to get the knife out of the wooden floor. He fell to the ground, and for a moment, we both worked with the knife. Finally, I managed to grab it and stab him inside the chest.
The struggle was over. Someone had transitioned tonight, but it wasn’t me. It wasn’t going to be me. I had far too much to live for. I took a deep breath and then took off the mask of the man.
To my utter despair, it was Paul. How had Paul gotten involved with trying to kill me?
It all made perfect sense now how they all had known so much about me. Still, Paul had been my best friend for years. I ran downstairs to find my cell phone and call for 911.
The dispatcher said they would be sending for someone as soon as possible.
I saw a large white truck coming towards my house, barreling down my street. I jumped into the road, flagging them down.
There was something strange about the truck. I realized when the headlights were no longer blinding my vision that it wasn’t the ambulance. I backed up onto the sidewalk and continued to look down the street for the ambulance. The truck did something strange, though. They stopped in front of me back up, so my view down the road was blocked.
A door to the back of the truck opened up.
There were two tall men dressed as clowns. One had blue hair and a red nose with what looked like blood around his mouth and dirty teeth. He grinned big at me. The other had on a red and yellow wig with green makeup. He looked more sinister than the other clown.
They stood looking at me, and then circus music began to play. I was annoyed by whatever joke they were trying to play, especially at a time like this. I could hear the ambulance now as it was making its way down my street. I tried to walk around the two stupid clowns. It was all so ridiculous to me.
That is when one of them grabbed me. I screamed for them to let me go! I had to help Paul! Then the other one helped get me by the legs. Before I knew it, I was no longer breathing.
I, Andrea Becker, died that night. I won’t bore you with the details. It was gruesome, and it was horrid. I have been missing for three years. I hope someone can see my story and relay what happened to me.
I’d like my parents to be able to have peace. We all deserve some peace.
I saw the book close on its own then. There were tears in my eyes as I read the last words of Andrea Becker.
I wasn’t sure how I could help, but I went over to my computer. There were numerous reports on the sightings of clowns in connection to missing children. I decided to search for the area combining missing person cases from around the region. I didn’t know how I was suddenly able to hack into systems using multiple databases, but I was doing it. For Andrea Becker’s sake, I was doing it.
That is when I found something very crucial. There were several sightings recently in my neighborhood. There were also six missing persons in a five-mile vicinity. I clicked, I typed, and I searched until I put the connections together. In all of the disappeared persons, there were three bodies found. One was of a seventeen-year-old female.
I knew without a shadow of a doubt that it would be the remains of Andrea Becker’s young body. I forwarded the information to the detective working the case. How had they not put it together on their own, I had no idea. I did now have gifts now that helped me help those who could not help themselves.
Later that night, there was a break in three of the missing person cases. No thanks to me. I was tired after Andrea Becker’s story.
That book never rests, though. Last night in the middle of the night, I heard music coming from somewhere.
It woke me from a dead sleep. I decided to find out what the matter was. It sounded like circus music.
I walked into my living room, and parked in front of my house was a white van with clowns in the driver's seat. I stared at them for a long while and then opened my front door.
Two maniacal clowns got out of the back, and as they slowly made their way towards my house, I let out a deep breath. Then I yelled.
I was using my new found thunderous gift their windows to the van all burst. They both held on to their ears as though they were in pain. I had no doubt why they were here.
I heard someone yell, “HELP ME, PLEASE!” It was a woman.
I became momentarily distracted by the sound of wailing behind me. Sad, painful wailing.
I looked away from the clown van towards the READ ME book on my couch. When I looked back toward the street, the van with the clowns was now long gone. I would see to it they were punished, but until then, I had other pressing business.
I picked up the book, and inside it, I read the chapter to the next story.
I was the Youngest Member of the Lunatic Asylum...

2020.09.21 19:57 ThrowRA0v3rd0s3 My (38F) boyfriend (34M) overdosed last night; I had no idea he was even using and he almost died on the living room floor. Where do I go from here?

Throw away for anonymity’s sake, and no real names used. When I refer to him nodding off and falling asleep, I’m describing it how I saw it at the time, BEFORE I knew any drugs were involved.
Background details: I’ve been dating Carl for about 2 1/2 years, we met on a dating app. He was up front with me in the beginning that he had done time in jail for drug possession (narcotics) with the intent to distribute, and promised me he was clean; I have never had any reason to doubt this.
He moved in with me and my daughter (she’ll be 10 in a few weeks) about a year into our relationship. I have never felt that he was hiding anything or sneaking around.
This whole quarantine has taken an emotional toll in both of us, he suffers from untreated depression.
This past week he hadn’t been getting enough sleep, he’d take a nap in the afternoon and then couldn’t go to sleep until super late, and then have to be up for work 3-4 hours later. He was so tired he would nod off in the middle of things. Starting on Friday, he was trying to get his sleep schedule back to normal by staying up.
On Saturday he was really tired, and just behaving like he had severe sleep deprivation, nodding off a lot (sometimes in the middle of a conversation), seemingly a bit delirious. I kept trying to get him to go to bed, and a somewhat early hour, but not too early that could throw off a decent sleep schedule. He got upset and said he needed to go for a drive to clear his head, he came back around 1am, and we ended up talking for like two hours about how he has been feeling.
He woke up at like 1 or 2pm on Sunday, and things seemed a little better, however, the later in the evening it got, the more he started to nod off, so starting around 6-6:30pm, I started telling him he should go to bed because it wasn’t so early that he wouldn’t be able to sleep through until his alarm in the morning.
He was being stubborn and not going to bed, so we ate some dinner got my daughter ready for bed, and then we started to play a video game, because for some reason he was forcing himself to stay awake. He was nodding off in the middle of trying to play the video game, and I kept waking him back up to keep playing.
Every time he would nod off, he stayed sitting up, just his eyes would close, and a little tap would wake him back up. Until he passed out and slumped over, I was only slightly concerned at first, because I could still hear him noisily breathing (he normally snores when he sleeps). However, it started to sound like a snore mixed with gasping for air. He wasn’t waking up and when I finally pushed him back up to sitting, his whole face was looking blue, so I pulled him to the floor and noticed some food in his mouth, and thought that maybe he nodded out and then started to choke on the food in his mouth. I couldn’t easily put my hand in his mouth to try and sweep anything out. So I rolled him on his stomach to try smacking his back cause I wasn’t sure how to do the heimlich on an unconscious person.
Since that wasn’t working I knew I needed to call 911, and put the dog in the kennel because he thought I was abusing Carl. The 911 operator was able to guide me through doing chest compressions, the whole time Carl would randomly make those snore/gasping for breath sounds, and they were getting further apart, so I was thinking that he was dead/dying right in front of me.
And of course, the dog was barking in his kennel which woke my daughter up, and she saw me doing chest compressions on an unconscious Carl. But I was able to get her to make sure the front doors were unlocked and open, and wait there for the ambulance, so she could concentrate and focus on something in the opposite direction of me and Carl.
As soon as all the emergency workers got there, they had both me and my daughter wait outside. And they were asking questions about drug use, and I was clueless to the possibility that was the cause, but I did tell them about his past. And it wasn’t until an officer came out and told me that they had used Narcan, and he was now conscious that I realized he had taken something.
After talking to him in the ER, he told me that it was just this once, and that the doc told him that he must’ve gotten a bad pill, cause there’s no way that just one pill could’ve done that. He said it was Percocet. He didn’t give me any excuses, just explained why he took it, and said the only thing he could say to me was sorry.
I don’t know what to believe. I don’t want to be an enabler and ignore signs, and believe the lies of an addict. While at the same time, I don’t want to give up on someone I love for a mistake, albeit an egregious one. I want to believe him, but I don’t want to put myself or my daughter in any danger.
I love Carl, and he is a good person that made a terrible mistake. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and the chance fix himself, but I don’t want to do it blindly.
Is there a way to come back from this? What are things that must happen in order to rebuild trust?
Also, I’m getting my daughter an appointment to see a counselor, as of now she just thinks he choked on food. I’m not trying to hide the truth from her, but I want a professional’s help in how to tell her the truth so she understands and isn’t any more traumatized.

2020.09.21 18:08 360Entertainment Jerome, the World’s Greatest... Lover?!!

Hey guys, I saw the original post was taken down. I went through and edited it a bit. Hope y’all enjoy!
This is my last Jerome story. I really don’t have anymore. But on the plus side, it’s a long. So buckle up, you’re in for a long ride!
If you’ve noticed a recurring theme in all of these it’s that Jerome believed himself to be a lady’s man! He thoroughly believed that every woman wanted him and every guy wanted to be him. I’m not sure if he did online dating but I imagine his profile would look something like this:
“I’m a specimen of manliness and trained in kickboxing. I’m also an expert in every weapon known to man and drive a mustang”!
At least that’s how I’m assuming it would read. Jerome though was not a fit dude, he was a short and pudgy with either limited or no martial arts capabilities. The one thing right though was he drove a mustang!
When I first met the guy he’d constantly brag about his conquests every time he went home. It got old after a while. While he talked about his “scores” we rarely saw him with anyone romantically outside of a single lady we nicknamed “Methmouth”. She stopped hanging around after a while so I really don’t have much info on her.
Around the same time Princess came to the company. Jerome was instantly smitten and Princess put up with it for the most part. She was a grown woman and could definitely handle her own. I’m pretty sure she found most of Jerome’s antics just as funny as we did but from the outside looking in I’ll admit it looked creepy. But she put up with it nonetheless.
During any sort of doubles exercise at PT, Jerome would usually try to pair off with Princess. She could handle him easily, she was a Samoan. One time we heard him trying to sweet talk her while she had him in a fireman’s carry. She proceeded to drop him, feigning losing her grip. Another morning after PT Princess walks into her room and Jerome followed her. Jerome proceeded to flop down on her bed while covered in dirt and sweat. Princess loses her s*** and yells at him to get his dirty a** off her bed. He asked her to join him. Big Mistake! I was walking to my room and I heard a loud crash. I go around the corner and there’s Jerome, he’d been thrown into a guard rail. I knock on Princess’s open door as she’s screaming in Samoan. I tell her she should aim higher if she wants to throw him off the balcony next time. She laughed and I go about my business.
After that Jerome was a bit better with his manners towards Princess, especially after he met her family. That didn’t stop him from fawning over her still. He was a lot nicer though and started buying her little gifts like Lunch when she was having a bad day and even got her a video game at one point.
Jerome kept his crush going until Princess announced she was pregnant. After that Jerome backed off but that didn’t stop me from loudly saying every so often,” look Jerome, there’s your true love!” causing him to get pissed off with me. Pretty sure Princess was annoyed by this too. After the Jerome and Princess Saga ended Jerome pulled his biggest faux pas yet!
Jerome knew a local girl who said she had a “cute” friend. He initially asked me to join him but I had just entered a relationship with my now ex wife and was not interested. Enter Frank! Frank was a brand new private to our unit and didn’t know anyone. Having a double blind date lined and not having many single friends left, Jerome asked Frank to join him. The “cute” friend was to be Jerome’s date. Frank, not wanting to disappoint Jerome, agreed to go. Frank asked to see what his date looked like and didn’t care for what he saw. Meanwhile Jerome was convinced that the girl he was supposed to be meeting was super hot.
When Jerome and Frank got to TGIFridays, on a Tuesday, they met their dates. Jerome was fairly disappointed and got stupid drunk, becoming highly critical of both women. Meanwhile, Frank ended up at a table with some young ladies. He made small talk with them until he was invited to sit down. After Jerome had been cut off he found his way over to the table Frank was at and sat himself down. He then proceeded to hit on them all (“Hey, I have a mustang”). Jerome badgered them until one of them, we’ll call her Nichole, gave him her number out of pity. The ladies paid their bill and went to their car.
Jerome had then gone to his Mustang, found the young ladies’s car, and blocked them in. He began to obnoxiously rev his engine, all the while yelling that he had a mustang. After this Jerome began talking about his new girlfriend, Nichole. He talked about how perfect they were together, all the little quirks he loved about her, and of course about how great she was in bed. Little did he know she was actually in a relationship with someone else, Frank!
Apparently Frank knew her from in processing and had gotten her number just before Jerome had acted the fool in front of them. This went on for around two months. The charade ended when Jerome and Frank were driving towards Temple and Jerome wouldn’t shut up about how great Nichole was. At the same time Frank was on the phone with Nichole. Just as the song on the radio was changing Nichole started hear what Jerome was talking about and let out a loud “IS HE TALKING ABOUT ME?!?” Jerome heard this and freaked out. He then kicked Frank out of the car just outside of Temple.
Nichole then drove all the way out to Temple to pick Frank up. She was both freaked and amused when she found out how long Jerome had pretended to be with her. Word spread around the company about Jerome’s latest shenanigan and it wasn’t a huge surprise. He’d been doing this for years but this was the first time he’d been caught red handed. A few months later and we have our MP Ball. Jerome is seated with his Motorpool guys and wouldn’t you know it, Franks’s date is Nichole! Jerome proceeded to get awkward drunk and only stayed for the ceremony.
Jerome mostly kept his head low for the rest of the time I knew him at Hood. I eventually received orders to Korea and didn’t think I’d see him again. Some months into my time there and I’m on duty. I’m picking up lunch at the food court and I just happen to see Jerome, now a Sergeant, telling his wild stories to a group of fresh young Privates. I go say hi and he’s pretty much back to his old self, telling his wild stories about his conquests. I don’t stop him, I figure someone else can call him out this time. Last I heard he was getting married. Never saw who he was marrying but I’m happy for the guy.
Hope ya’ll enjoyed these, figured after the whole Karen debacle I needed to put something a lot more lighthearted out there.
